Roscrea Castle is a beautifully preserved site that’s well worth a visit if you're in the area. One of the most impressive features is the well-preserved roof, which is quite rare for castles of this kind and gives a real sense of how it looked in its prime. Outside, there's a lovely garden that's perfect for a relaxing walk or just to sit and take in the historic surroundings.
A big plus: carers go free, and there’s free entry for individuals with special needs, which is thoughtful and inclusive. Adult €5, student €3. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a unique and well-preserved...

It suited all parties to have a quick tour because i was on the back to the end of a jam packed itinerary. Highlights for me were the ceiling in the banquet hall, which is the most impressive I've seen in any castle yet. The bedroom in Damer House was also very cool. And those stairs, holy wozers it is no wonder they literally saved the house from catastrophic modernisation! I found the gardens underwhelmig, but... I had just come from Birr Castle so no hope of being impressed after that experience. Staff very knowledgeable and welcoming and I thank them...
