Playtown Tullamore — Attraction in The Municipal District of Tullamore

The O’ Reilly family have nailed it! Excellent family run play centre. It is quite different from any local competition in that it offers real life play opportunities instead of fantasy. Very suitable for children with ID, ASD and similar. It’s a secure play area and is fully covered by cctv for the safety of the children who use it. Staff are very friendly and inclusive. If you’re looking for a fun day out with the kids, this is the place to go. Playtown is quite literally a play town. You’ll find: A Credit Union Restaurant Garda Station Hairdressers School Restaurant Doctors Office Dress up clothes in most areas and lots more.

Great customer service, your kids won’t get bored as there’s loads to do and their imaginations will be at work. There is an area upstairs called the “Ice Rooms” which parties call avail of. There is a small shop to buy some of the wooden toys Playtown is equipped with which is a nice touch if they get particularly attached.

Delicious coffee for the adults, scones and sweet treats and Supermacs have an arrangement to deliver there! Ideal venue for birthday parties, days out and school tours.

A fantastic place for children. Our little boy loved his morning here and we were so impressed. A couple of reviews said this place was pricey and I couldn’t disagree more, the quality of play in a place like this is far superior to the typical soft play centres. Beautiful wooden toys, role play, dress up. Each role play area is well equipped for your child to play as a guard/ diy/hairdresser/bar b q. So good for your child’s development. Saw another comment about it being cold and I’d argue that a child running around will get warm more quickly than an adult who is standing beside them. It’s the kind of place where you’d do best to play with your kid, you can really bond with them play acting in the different scenarios. In this age of constant screens, a place like this offers a unique opportunity for good old fashioned, make believe playing which is exactly what children need. Spotlessly clean and well organised. The staff cleaned and tidied constantly while we were there. A wonderful asset to tullamore....

First timers here. I had been lucky enough to win a family pass on Facebook so 2 adults and 4 children entered a thoroughly enjoyable 90 minutes of pure play here. No shoes allowed once inside. Very clean. Appropriate level of staff. Loads to explore and play with. Meticulous details. Not oversubscribed. Slide was a big hit. 2 of our party were aged 4 and over and could enter the ICE (Imagine Create Explore) room where they were engrossed with lego for some time but loads more on offer in this room too for the older child. Very well thought out and created. Relaxed fun atmosphere. Absolutely ideal for our children aged 2.5 -6. The kids loved dressing up and role playing. The adults savoured a sit down, natter and Cappuccino and Americano for €7.40. Highly recommended and we will definitely return and spread the word. We could have easily stayed another half hour: the 90 minutes really flew by. I actually couldn't suggest a way to improve the experience except to prolong it!!...
