I cannot rate our tour with Tralee Bay Experience highly enough. We booked our tour very last minute but Mary replied to my texts immediately and answered all my questions, even offering to run an early boat tour so that my toddlers wouldn't be too hot in the sun. She couldn't have been more accommodating. Mary and Alan were waiting for us on the boat when we arrived, welcoming us with a big, friendly wave. Mary is a wealth of knowledge about the history of Fenit Lighthouse, Tralee Bay and the creatures of the sea. Her and Alan hail from a long history of sea-working families. We could have listened to her stories for two more hours. We sailed around the bay for two hours. My two year old daughter got to drive the boat, we were allowed to land on Samphire Island and we got to see and touch different varieties of crabs and lobster up close. Unfortunately, the three local dolphins didn't grace us with their presence but that just means that we've a good excuse to book another trip with Mary and Alan (not that we need an excuse!)

Met 2 more sea legends today for the 1st time the amazing Mary O Brien Browne and her wonderful husband Alan @Tralee Bay Experience Fenit . It is practically on our doorstep and after 2 hours out around Fenit and a trip to the lighthouse , I am completely blown away with the knowledge these 2 fantastic folk shared , not only of Fenit, but of Marine life, History, tides, the lighthouse, The channel from Blenerville and Fenit from the 1800’s right up to the present day, St Brendàn, Sapphire Rock, the starting point of Liebherr. 3 Dolphins came our way and the excitement on the children’s faces said it all. A mother dolphin, her daughter and another female relation . Haven’t the words to recommend this trip enough @ Tralee Bay Experience Fenit . These people are the best hosts of the sea, captivated the minds of the children, Teens and Adults on board and the Respect shown for the sea and marine life would restore faith in humanity🙌 A holiday at home 🌊⚓️🛥️🐬🐬🐬🦀🦞❤️ ☀️🌊 #Vitaminsea #Fenit #failteireland

We had the most amazing day with Mary and Alan today! I brought my three kids (ages 12, 6, and 4), and it’s safe to say this is a day they’ll never forget. From the moment we stepped onto the boat, we felt completely safe, comfortable, and so warmly welcomed. Mary’s stories about Fenit through the ages were absolutely fascinating — her knowledge brought the whole place to life. The kids were thrilled to get hands-on with some local wildlife, learning all about conservation and the importance of respecting the sea. And then… we got to explore the lighthouse! Hearing the tales of its past was like stepping back in time. The highlight for the kids? Getting to drive the boat — their faces lit up with pure joy! These are the kind of memories that last a lifetime. Huge thanks to Mary and Alan — we’re already looking forward to booking again next yea🦞🦀💦

From my initial call to Mary on a day that she was full and couldn’t take our family out to the texts to rearrange for a date that suited us, Mary was an absolute lady, so efficient and so personable.

Today myself my two young boys and my husband arrived at the pier to be greeted by Mary like we were old friends. She helped get us safely onto the boat and offered to take photos of us prior to embarking on the trip. She introduced us to her husband the skipper Alan and he too was a true gentleman. So kind and considerate throughout our excursion with them.

Mary is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Fenit, the pier and the local area and her love for the area is infectious.

Alan then proceeded to show us a crab and lobster retreat, where they feed the crabs and lobsters and give them a little time on the boat with day trippers. At this point t their love for marine life really exploded they were more knowledgeable than the Octonaughts and allowed the children to hold the spider crabs, lobsters and brown shelled crab. It was absolutely amazing. We disembarked to view and explore the lighthouse and then low and behold we were no sooner off the boat exploring when three beautiful dolphins 🐬 🐬 🐬 can’t to check us out and have us our v own personalised swimming show. It was incredible.

The icing on the cake for the boys was the opportunity to cast lines off the boat and try our hand at fishing and although we were not lucky in our first fishing endeavours another little boy on the boat caught two beauties. Alan kindly bucketed them and explained how best to eat them if they wished to bring them home for their supper.

On return to the pier, we left them and longed to to re-embarking again but today was the first but definitely not the last we will have seen of Alan and Mary. We will definitely be back again v soon thanks so much for running such a beautiful excursion. We saluted at Brendan and rejoiced that the cormorant was there at the start, middle and end of our voyage wishing us well too.

Thanks Mary and Alan for a wonderful day, one we will cherish for many years xxx Áine Joe Michael...

We sailed with Mary and Alan on the last sailing on the season. I booked it smoothly through their phone number. When I arrived Mary whom I had spoken to herself, advised to wait at the RNLI dock. I noticed a gentleman in a wheelchair nearby us and I thought it was such a pity he couldnt come on the boat with us due to his wheelchair. I was with my 12 year old daughter who is autistic. I didn't mention this at the time of booking however it was apparent to Mary during the tour due to my daughters fears. Mary couldnt do enough for her. She sat with her and explained that she was safe and nothing to worry about. When it was time to do the landing visit to Sampire Island, my daughter did her best, but her fears of the sensory feeling of the grass was too overwhelming for her, thankfully Mary was very discreet and assured her that all is fine and calmly brought us back to the boat while Alan continued the tour with the other guests. Mary was an absolute god send of support to us. She took us back, sat down and allowed my daughter to sit inside the boat and gave her space to relax and calm and we chatted casually. When the others returned my daughter was calm enough to continue the tour after being gracefully allowed some quiet time inside the boat. She was brave enough to take the wheel as allowed by Alan to all guests, and we had a fantastic rest of the trip back to shore. I cannot thank Mary and Alan enough who supported us in what was a bit of a stressful situation. But allowing my daughter to have space and their calm and friendly demeanor meant she absolutely felt that this tour was amazing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support and made us feel so welcome. I would love to see this area becoming more accessible to the general public and those in wheelchairs and those Autistic families can be supported to allow those with additional needs to enjoy a wonderful day out. We will absolutely return as soon as the season returns. Thank...

My wife and I arranged a late summer break in Tralee and we were keen to experience the best of Kerry during our stay, including a short sea trip. I found your website online and was impressed by the variety of trips offered and the straightforward approach taken by your company. You were obviously a family company, keen to connect with the public and supply them with the service they want. Since neither of us are seasoned sailors, we booked a short harbour trip so that we could simply enjoy the views of the beautiful Kerry coastline from the water. Shortly after we were contacted in person by Mary who chatted about our plans and was able to make arrangements that exactly fitted our needs. When we parked up beside the marina in Fenit we were greeted by Mary herself who introduced us to our skipper Eddie Joe. He was a very experienced seaman who negotiated the harbour with ease and took us out into the bay. He watched the gulls and knew from their behaviour where there were fish. He gave us rods and my wife caught us some mackerel which we took home for supper. We sailed around the lighthouse and visited some bird colonies and viewed the mountains and beautiful beaches from the boat. Soon we spotted a pod of dolphins who seemed as curious about us as we were of them. They played about us and literally swam under the boat. The water was so clear and in the sunshine you could see their white faces under the surface. It was like being part of a nature documentary. It was an unforgettable experience. I cannot praise this company enough. Mary, Alan and their staff provide a wonderful service and I heartily recommend them. We have shared the photographs of our trip with our children and grandchildren, and have promised to include them on our next excursion...
