I visited West Kerry Sheep Dogs as part of a small-group tour--and it was one of the highlights of my trip. I've seen many sheepdog demos on TV, like on Rick Steves Europe, and I always thought they looked rather boring. I don't know if was Bridget and her partner Seamus, who made this a thrilling experience or if you just have to witness these incredible dogs in person, but I was floored by the demo. And what really made it special was Bridget. You won't find many women sheepherders, so visiting West Kerry is a unique experience. Read moreAbsolutely the best sheepdog experience! If you're wondering which one to choose, this is the one!! Bridget and Seamus were wonderful hosts. They treat their dogs like family members and obviously love them. It was amazing to see the dogs at work, and we learned a lot about sheepdog trials, which I found so interesting. We also got to help bottle feed the lambs! At the end, we all went into the tiny cottage where Bridget and Seamus's grandparents raised 9 children to hear some Irish music.

Read moreThe BEST part of our Ireland trip! Bridget and Shamus were amazing and so welcoming to us on their beautiful 300+ year old property. Truly an amazing cultural experience, I don’t think you can get any closer to the culture than this. The sheep dogs were so impressive. There is something so amazing about being in nature and around animals like this that is made this stop so special to me, not to mention we were surround by mountains to one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other.
