Nestled along the rugged coastline of Waterford, Killfarrasy Beach stands as a testament to the rich history and timeless beauty of the region. This historical gem, with its pebbled shores and towering cliffs, exudes an air of tranquillity and serenity that is truly captivating.

As you set foot on the stony beach, you can almost feel the echoes of the past whispering through the salty sea breeze. The ancient stones, weathered by centuries of tides and time, seem to hold secrets of days gone by. Walking along the shore, you can't help but be transported back in time, imagining the tales of fishermen and sailors who once frequented these shores.

The lack of sandy shores only adds to the unique allure of Killfarrasy Beach. The sound of the pebbles shifting beneath your feet creates a soothing rhythm that lulls you into a state of peaceful contemplation. It's as if the very stones themselves are telling a story, inviting you to slow down and appreciate the simple beauty of the natural world.

From the vantage point of the cliffs, the view of the vast expanse of the sea is simply awe-inspiring. The waves crashing against the rocks below create a mesmerising symphony of sound and motion, reminding you of the untamed power of nature. It's easy to see why this place has captured the hearts of so many over the years, drawing artists, writers, and dreamers seeking inspiration from its timeless beauty.

For those seeking a moment of respite from the hustle and bustle of modern life, Killfarrasy Beach offers a sanctuary where time seems to stand still. Whether you come to bask in the warmth of the sun, take a leisurely stroll along the shore, or simply sit and gaze out at the endless horizon, this historical beach has something to offer for everyone.

In conclusion, Killfarrasy Beach in Waterford is a true hidden gem, a place where history and natural beauty intertwine to create a truly magical experience. It is a reminder of the enduring power of the sea and the land and a testament to the timeless allure of Ireland's coastal treasures. A visit to this historical beach is not just a journey through space, but a journey through time, where the echoes of the past whisper softly in the wind, inviting you to come...

Lovely quiet place today, May 2025. Plenty of parking. There was only around 20 people there while I was there. Some families. Some dog walkers. Some explorers and some sporty people in kayaks. Most seemed to be local and the people I spoke to warned me to be careful if I was wandering too far because the tide can come in very fast and catch you off guard. I went walking by the sea stacks on the left and the sand is pretty soft in places. I did tip over when I walked in a very soft area 😂 The cliffs are amazing around the beach and there is a plaque on the way in explaining the geology of the place. There is a bin at the entrance but I didn't see any toilets on site. It's just a beautiful beach to escape to and I guess tramore isn't very far away if you need toilets. Approx 15 minutes I think. Fantastic place for photography because of the sea stacks and the colours on the cliffs. The only thing I would say is be careful if you're walking barefoot because some of the fallen rocks seem very slaty and are very sharp if you stand on them. I don't know how busy this place gets during high summer but it was an absolute dream today if you like somewhere away...

Next on our Copper Coast tour was Kilfarrasy Beach. Much like Garrarus Strand, the beach sports beautiful views. I noticed much less seaweed and algae at this beach. Bring a foam pad and your sandals for comfort.

Parking available. If you’re driving, roads leading to parking are very narrow.

We were looking for something to fill in our schedule on our last day in Ireland. We decided to head south towards Waterford and then make our way across the Copper Coast.

The views along the Copper Coast are beautiful. Make sure to leave some time to stop at the various beaches and viewpoints along the way. We made 10 stops in total and have a wonderfully relaxing day.
