Not really suitable for swimming as the seabed is rather swamp like ground. The beach is not for naked feed as broken shells scatter the beach and they are sharp. But for a walk along a long sandy beach you find fantastic scenery and enjoyment. Lots of people allow their dogs to run freely and not all dogs are nice therefore watch your kids. At certain times you see horse riders galopping along and they do not cause any problems as they use the outer lane of this large beach and disturb no one. It is not terribly deep water, so you may go for a swim safely. It is my favorite beach in the area, with amazing views of the lighthouse and the oyster farm that is directly ahead. No stones as it's on the river rather than on the sea, this also means there are no waves so it's a great spot to introduce kids to the sea swimming.
