This is such a beautiful and safe beach to visit. The beach is all sand and the day I visited there wasn’t any litter at all which is fantastic. Car park is free though pretty small, though you can park on the grass verge. The day I visited the road wasn’t overly busy.

This is a very nice long stretch of sandy beach. On a sunny clear day, you can see land on the opposite side. This is an ideal location for a walk with dogs and also good location for families with children to play. It is located at a short distance from Waterford City.

Not really suitable for swimming as the seabed is rather swamp like ground. The beach is not for naked feed as broken shells scatter the beach and they are sharp. But for a walk along a long sandy beach you find fantastic scenery and enjoyment. Lots of people allow their dogs to run freely and not all dogs are nice therefore watch your kids. At certain times you see horse riders galopping along and they do not cause any problems as they use the outer lane of this large beach and disturb no one. Parking and picnick is available but no shops. Toilets are there but only open during season and you do not want...

This quiet and peaceful beach is right in the heart of the bay area. The beach is clean and only on the very edges will you find some seaweed. It is not terribly deep water, so you may go for a swim safely. It is my favorite beach in the area, with amazing views of the lighthouse and the oyster farm that is directly ahead. In the evenings you can go for a run on the beach, as the sand is quite firm at times. Don't worry about pollution, as there isn't any. The local pub is close by, so you can have a pint or something non-alcoholic also. Overall a...

One of the nicest beaches in Waterford for a walk. No stones as it's on the river rather than on the sea, this also means there are no waves so it's a great spot to introduce kids to the sea swimming. Only problem is that it's very shallow so when the tide is out it's a long walk to get to the water. Very popular for dog walking and people exercise their horses here as well. There is a pub called the Saratoga about halfway along the beach where you can get decent...
