Perhaps not the most significant artefact that you have seen but well worth the visit nonetheless. Safe parking on the roadside at the sign. Be sure to head straight up the grass hill from the farm gate. Its a minute or two to walk. Site has iron pipe fence and there is a side gate. The 3 panel information board tells it all including what is carved onto the stone pillar. Its hard to decipher the pillar so use your immagination and the info board. The views are 360 degrees fabulous. Enjoy.

The site is on working farmland and we had to walk through a field of curious bullocks to get here. (There is a bucket at the gate for you to clean your shoes and prevent the spread of disease to the livestock) The area around the stone is fenced off from the cattle and access is through a gate to the right of the enclosure as you walk straight up hill from the gate. There is good information signs which explain both the markings on the stone and the surrounding archeology.

Right in the center of a pasture you’ll find this incredible stone. Weathered by centuries of wind and weather — the carvings barely visible it stands like a sentinel — protected from the cows by an enclosure. Evidence of ancient man.
