Had a pleasant experience till I got bit. There are signs that say feed at own risk, but u don't expect to purposely b bitten. It was a young donkey which dint even attempt to go for the horse nuts, just my fingers, and in the process dislodged a ring which was hard to remove and swallowed it. I would advise anyone with small children to stay away from the donkeys, as the bite broke skin and has left a lump and bruising. A small child would of probably lost a finger. I told the staff about it only to be told 'well I'm not sifting thru poo', which is fine seen as the ring didn't cost much, which is lucky for her because if it was poo sifting is what she would have to do. Read moreA most wonderful place to visit, large free car park, free entry (donations welcome). A great place to see ex tram horses, donkeys , ponies. You are welcome to take carrots, apples or purchase food to take round to feed the residents. They really are gentle giants. Lovely small cafe on site , all homemade bakes and cakes, friendly staff, tea in teapots and chiba cups and saucers of various patterns, not always matching adds to the charm of this wonderful place. Little gift shop, where its a pleasure to see Stanley the dog and see all pictures of horses/donkeys you can adopt for £10 a year who could resist after feeding them fresh carrots. Definately...
Read moreWe came here this afternoon. On a lovely sunny day. We called into the gift shop and got some horse nuts, friendly shop. We fed the horses and it was nice to see people enioy ing themselves. We called into the cafe had a cup of tea and coffee and a sandwich each. Prices were very good for food and drinks and served quickly and it was friendly service.
