This is a beautiful location of a famous landmark called Point of Ayre Lighthouse. It's at the very top of the Isle of Man, an island that's nestled right between Great Britain and Ireland. This awesome lighthouse was designed by a famous Scottish engineer named Robert Stevenson and started shining its light in 1818. Standing at a height of 30 meters (that's 98 feet!), it rocks a snazzy red and white color scheme. Its main job is to help sailors and ships find their way, especially when dealing with the tricky waters and strong currents around the island. The lighthouse flashes a white light every 10 seconds, which can be seen up to 19 nautical miles away. How cool is that? It's looked after by the Northern Lighthouse Board, who make sure all the lighthouses in Scotland and the Isle of Man are in tip-top shape. This is a beautiful sea view, an incredible landscape but so many pebbles on the beach makes it difficult to walk along, so put something in your feet. This location is well loved by tourists and locals alike and there is a carpark near by, and if you pick the right spot you will be overlooking the sea. Well worth a visit. Maybe take a picnic, prepare for rain and enjoy the view.

Free to visit, large hand standing car park for about 20 cars Not suitable for all abilities but definitely worth a visit, plenty to see especially wildlife around the area The main light at Point of Ayre was established in 1818, but some 70 years later it was found necessary to build an additional small light tower some 250 yards seaward from the main tower. Due to continuous gravel build-up, this tower moved a further 250ft seaward in 1951, and now stands out on the gravel bank. This light is referred to as the "Winkie"

I visit every year. Stunning place to go. Load of fun things to do, collect amazing stones, Write things with stones on the banks, t Dip you're feet in the sea, see all the passing boats (lost pass here, and some really big ones) see the light houses and fog horn. Its a very exposed spot so it can get very windy! So wrap up walm. But it's an amazing place!

Fantastic place to visit to see the local bird life. Visiting in early July there were nesting Arctic terns, nesting ringed plovers, oystercatchers, gannets, cormorants and more. There were also seals playing in the sea. The nesting sites are roped off and it is an offence to enter that area. The lighthouses themselves are also excellent to see.

I loved coming to Point of Ayre. I wanted to go as I had seen photographs of the lighthouse. I wondered why people were standing at the waters edge on the beach and they were watching the seals watching them and swimming! It would be lovely to come here in the fog and experience the fog horn sounding!!

Very beautiful place with the lighthouse and other buildings. The beach looks really unreal and so quiet, and the surroundings add to this feeling. In sum, a nice place to make a break and take a bit of the sun during your trip in northern part of Isles of Man
