This is a beautiful location of a famous landmark called Point of Ayre Lighthouse. It's at the very top of the Isle of Man, an island that's nestled right between Great Britain and Ireland. This awesome lighthouse was designed by a famous Scottish engineer named Robert Stevenson and started shining its light in 1818.

Standing at a height of 30 meters (that's 98 feet!), it rocks a snazzy red and white color scheme. Its main job is to help sailors and ships find their way, especially when dealing with the tricky waters and strong currents around the island. The lighthouse flashes a white light every 10 seconds, which can be seen up to 19 nautical miles away. How cool is that?

It's looked after by the Northern Lighthouse Board, who make sure all the lighthouses in Scotland and the Isle of Man are in tip-top shape.

This is a beautiful sea view, an incredible landscape but so many pebbles on the beach makes it difficult to walk along, so put something in your feet.

This location is well loved by tourists and locals alike and there is a carpark near by, and if you pick the right spot you will be overlooking the sea.

Well worth a visit.

Maybe take a picnic, prepare for rain and...

Great place,But be weary of wild bears.I am a man ,and I was wondering around the puny tower then suddenly out nowhere a small black male tried to attack me.I fought with all my might split it from crown to toe just to remember that there are; No black men on the Isle of man.BUT THERE ARE BEARS.I am a man; had slaughtered a bear with my bare hands.

Just remember if you were to ever visit this place , never have your back towards the water , because bears swim out of the ocean ,even if black men can't, trust me i am a expert on marine biology.

If you have any enquires please contact me i'll gladly share the images I took of ''my prey" before i skinned it to take my trophy home . My contact info is on Discord...

The Point of Ayre on the Isle of Man offers expansive, open spaces perfect for outdoor activities. The area is great for barbecuing, as you can set up and cook virtually anywhere. However, visitors should be aware that there are often quite a few people drinking, and there seems to be a lack of authority presence.

One significant downside is the absence of warning signs about the extremely strong sea currents. This could pose a serious risk to those unaware of the dangers. It would be beneficial to have a webcam installed to monitor the area for safety and provide real-time updates...

Free to visit, large hand standing car park for about 20 cars Not suitable for all abilities but definitely worth a visit, plenty to see especially wildlife around the area The main light at Point of Ayre was established in 1818, but some 70 years later it was found necessary to build an additional small light tower some 250 yards seaward from the main tower. Due to continuous gravel build-up, this tower moved a further 250ft seaward in 1951, and now stands out on the gravel bank. This light is referred to as the "Winkie"

I visit every year. Stunning place to go. Load of fun things to do, collect amazing stones, Write things with stones on the banks, t Dip you're feet in the sea, see all the passing boats (lost pass here, and some really big ones) see the light houses and fog horn. Its a very exposed spot so it can get very windy! So wrap up walm. But it's an amazing place!
