I went the the museum today and enquired if dogs were allowed, unfortunately they weren't (which I fully respect). I asked if I could look around the shop to pick up some gifts (my dog wasn't with me). The lady kindly agreed. There is some nice stuff in there and I was deciding what to purchase and the lady suggested I could leave my dog in the car and look around (good suggestion), I thanked her for idea and said I couldn't, she restored indignanly "it's only a dog!!!" I responded politely, "she's my family" and promptly left (even though I wanted to buy gifts).
Whilst this may sound a little crass to some people but it's part of my values to respect animals and not leave a dog in a hot car!
I suggest to the Museum owners need to address their customer care and abide by their own guidelines:- Under the visitor guidelines ..... "Respect other visitors, Museum staff and Volunteers. Abusive behaviour, whether verbal or otherwise, will not be tolerated"
I strongly and kindly suggest the Museum needs to take a leaf out of your own book with staff views, beliefs and values.......they should not be aired...
Read moreGetting there is fairly easy as it is well sign posted. On arrival there are electric charging points and disabled parking, as well as plenty of additional parking spaces. The entry is flat and clearly marked. This is a charge for visiting & you should check the web page for details, however we found it great value for money. Again full praise for the lay out, because it is great for disabled people and there are good lifts up for the floors where the bikes are. Everywhere including the toilets are very clean. While you aren't allowed to touch the exhibits there are volunteers who will show you things. This we took advantage of and it was wonderful. Okay a minor niggle is that there aren't enough British cars, but that is just a personal preference not big thing to worry about. If you love Motors, then this is a must, just don't expect a quick look around because you'll miss so much if you. Finally every member of staff we spoke to and I am sorry I can't remember your names, shone with love for what they're doing and you almost feel everything saying how happy we...
Read moreBeyond impressive. Myself and my disabled good lady visited the collection 31.03.24 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I live in a suit and so off times are spent looking fairly scruffy and dishevelled yet Denis, the main man, didn't run away or go and lock all his cars up, he took the time to talk to us and show us his wonderful collection. My good lady is wheelchair bound and autistic and asks some random questions along with zooming around in her chair, again Denis was great with her. There is something for everyone in there and I urge everyone to go and see this collection of beauties. Nice place and nice people who are so obviously very proud of their collection yet are so down to earth and approachable. The lady behind the counter was really enthusiastic, she was great. My apologies for not getting her name.
We shall return next time we are over when we have more...
