We stayed for two nights at the Ashkelon National Park in the overnight campground. It was the first time for our group of three families — and definitely not the last. The park is absolutely amazing: organized, clean, and well-maintained. There are grassy areas for setting up tents, refrigerators, and a small kitchenette (which needs to be reserved in advance). The showers and restrooms are clean and orderly. Free parking in the camp. This place, managed by the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, is maintained to a very high standard. The park is quiet in terms of music. There’s a small kiosk and an option to rent a clean, high-quality mattress for 12 shekels.
Discounted entry for “Matmon” subscription holders. It's a 5-minute walk to a lifeguarded beach or to an unguarded beach. The beaches are very clean, and the sea is pleasant (depending on the wind). You can walk along the shore all the way to the southern beach of Ashkelon.

Read moreThis national park is a beautiful relaxing place, and perfect for spending a whole day with the family. There is a sandy beach, with life guard services. The waves are pretty rough though. The beach has changing rooms and bathrooms. But the showers are all outdoor. At the park there is plenty of parking. There are also picnic tables and grass to sit on, so feel free to bring a packed lunch, or even BBQ. The park is also an archaeological site , so feel free to walk around and explore. There is an entrance fee of 28 shekels per adult, and 14 per child. But it you have a "matmon" membership card it's free. If you feel like camping for the night- you can do that too. Will cost some more. For 15 shekels more (15 for the whole group, not 15 for each person) you can get a scavenger hunt game, that takes you all around the park. It's a fun activity for the whole family. And there is even a small...
Read moreReally excellent camp site and national park with plenty of room to pitch a tent or have a picnic. We found a spot overlooking the sea which was spectacular (see picture). There are plenty of other things to see around the site. We'll certainly be returning.
Toilets were clean at all hours of the day. Showers were fine. There are fridges and phone charging facilities available. Mattresses can be rented.
The site is clean and rules are followed so that there are no morons blasting music and it is quiet at night.
Parking is fine and we were able to enter fairly quickly. There are trolleys to ferry stuff around but not many and you have to...
