Poorly managed zoo with very little oversight. It's a shame to see animals being abused and taunted by low end visitors. I saw a group of young "religious" men taunting and bothering the lions through a crack in their cage. The magestic creatures were clearly suffering as they were bashing themselves against the cage fence and attacking it repeatedly. The young religious men refused to stop their abuse since they found it so entertaining. The zoo staff was nowhere to be seen and the surveillance cameras also didn't work or make significance in deterrence. It was impossible to reach the zoo administration by phone and even after being alerted about what's going on someone went to ask the men to stop bothering the lions nonchalantly. The men continued in their animal abuse nonetheless.

It's hard to believe such badly managed zoos still exist in a large city in Israel. Most distressing is to think about how much the animals suffer because of the incompetent and irresponsible management.
