I'm writing this review to share our recent experience at Dolphin Reef, where we opted for the swim-with-dolphins experience. We paid nearly 1000 Shekels for a single adult and two children to participate in a 20-minute swim in the sea. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of our expectations. Our time in the water was mostly spent chasing after the guide, swimming back and forth without truly getting a chance to see much. We had our goggles on and we did see some fish, a lot of sand, and a rope that we swam over a few times. However, the main attraction - the dolphins - were elusive to say the least. We only caught fleeting glimpses of them from afar, twice. For the most part, they remained frustratingly distant and the sightings lasted only for a moment. Our 20-minute swim felt dragged out as we followed the guide, hoping for a closer encounter with the dolphins. Unfortunately, that moment never came. The cost of this underwhelming experience was nearly 1000 Shekels, an amount that I now view as a regrettable waste. I would strongly advise anyone considering this experience to reconsider. The promise of swimming with dolphins was not delivered upon, and the high price tag only amplifies the disappointment. After the swim, we walked on the pier and saw the dolphins up close. This was, in fact, a much more rewarding experience, rendering the swim itself completely unnecessary. The dolphin viewing from the pier was more satisfying, and I would recommend that visitors stick to this rather than the...

I went for an intro / dolphin dive. I let them know right off the bat that I previously had a not so great experience with intro diving, many years ago (different location) and that I would like to conquer the fear I developed since. Leor was my guide. He was INCREDIBLE. He let me know we would go my pace, and completely delivered on his promise. He constantly checked in, was attentive and gentle. Slowly but surely, I felt more confident, and relaxed into it. I had a great dive, saw great sea life, and was surrounded by dolphins at one point. The dolphins are mesmerizing. You should know that as of today there are only 3 resident dolphins at the reef, and that they come and go as they please (they're not trained animals). You may or may not see them, but you are likely to, as they were born at the reef and get fed there. The dive is 25 minutes long. My kid also went and had a...

A little overpriced for the scuba dive tour (been pushed as upgrade from snorkeling) and pictures are extra (no self photography during dive). You have to stay hand in hand with instructor unless you show a padi certificate. We had two people following us. So safety is pretty high. The four dolphins did come to say hello. A nice little reef with parrot and other fishes. Showers are hot. Restaurant is pretty decent- the cauliflower is remarkable. The hot rhum cider is a plus. There are plenty of peacocks, hens, cats doing their thing. Plenty of places to sit and chill with great view. Tickets usually are valid for more than one day. The swim area on the beach isn’t huge but is fine. It’s crowded even in winter. Still would recommend. Just don’t expect dancing or interacting with dolphins - it is really about the view and checking them out.

I have very mixed feelings about this place. We do end up here every time we come to Eilat and I like that the dolphins are free to come and go as they please BUT it’s very expensive and crowded. You just catch short glimpses of the dolphins (true it’s because they aren’t penned in which is a good thing). All of the activities cost extra and the prices are extremely high. I dunno, it’s only a so/so experience. We’ve had a much better time at some of the free beaches. The food is typical beach food with typical beach prices although I will say the Greek salad I had for lunch was quite tasty. I guess I would say, this doesn’t need to go on your Must Do list but if you’re out of activities and you need a few hours to kill, this isn’t terrible.
