Lookout and Observation Stock Mishmar Hasharon and reservoirs Emek Hefer — Attraction in Emek Hefer Regional Council

The photos say all - once in a lifetime experience. The birds were stunning and beautiful to watch. There is a large fence between them and the crowd to protect them, which is extremely smart.

Unfortunately, the other visitors weren't so quiet and respectful to others Friday afternoon but that's irrelevant to the beauty of the birds.

Great picnic area near the parking lot so bring stuff and of course, trash bags to clean up after yourself!

There was a little ice cream truck, 15 shekel for an American ice cream.

No toilets, but 2 portable bathrooms next to the ice cream truck.

Take a large car, there was a massive puddle that caused many cars to have to turn around and find...

Great place for birdwatching!

Driving advice:

To get there, Google knows the best way however there are signs telling you how to drive.

The signs take you through a dirt path with lots of bumps and holes so I advise you to turn left where you see the sign that tells you to continue straight.

Recommended for the whole family but just use waze to get there. Google maps took me on a long dirt track full of huge potholes and waze took everyone else of the short dirt track with no potholes. This place has a wonderful shaded lookout over the reservoir, very safe for toddlers and with lots of beautiful flowers. There's a playground with picnic tables, plenty of parking, a bridge over Nachal Alexander and you can bring bikes and cycle along the river....
