Discoverered this little gem last week and I'm really shocked that I've never been there before or even heard of it. I was looking for a place to stop off and let the kids run around on our way to the North and found it on the parks authority website. Large interconnected shallow pools of water surrounded by grass and shaded picnic tables. I could see my kids paddling from pretty much anywhere in the park and the water is shallow enough that I could truly relax and let them get on with it. It's really pretty, was very quiet the day we were there (midweek in October!) and also has a small playground which my kids very much enjoyed. We've visited nearby Sachne (Gan Hashelosha) many times and it's one of my favourite places but the deep water and it's sheer size always make me nervous as I have young kids and I can't turn my back for a second. This is a far better place for the little ones. I understand that it's good for camping too from friends who were there last year. If you have a parks membership it's free - if not then standard costs - NIS 28 for adults and NIS 14 for kids...
Read moreA small national park. It's kept well, green grass, colorful flowers, trees. It's clean. Lots of picnic tables, good place to BBQ. There is a small natural spring that runs into a little stream of fresh clean water. Fun for kids to to in a mess around in. It's about knee deep. On the weekends in the spring and summer you can spend the night in a tent or RV, but you must sign up in advance to make sure there is room for you, and it costs money (not expensive). If you do spend the night you can use the facilities: clean bathrooms and showers. I would recommend visiting if If you have small children who love water fights. Or if you want to peaceful place to picnic. And if you like camping and taking hikes in the area. Another highlight: This is also the resting place or Yehoshua Hankin and his wife Olga. They were important figures in Israeli history (look it up on Google). You can take a short walk up a path to where the mausoleum is, and also catch the beautiful veiw of the valley at the same...
Read moreA great camping site for both tents and caravans. The small pools are a nice for young toddlers who can enjoy some splashes - and grownups who can dip their toes in the the cold water while drinking cold beer. The place is beautifully maintained and the staff is doing it's best to keep it clean, although it's a tough one when facing some ugly visitors who leave their litter behind. Nevertheless staff will come over every hour or so to empty the rubbish and offer you some litter bags. If you can, try to avoid the local shop as the staff is pretty slow and huge lines are created very fast. Other thab that, it's definitely one of the nicest places for camping in Israel by the Israeli national...
