Israeli Cartoon Museum — Attraction in Holon

This is neither a museum nor is does it have to do with caroons. What it is, is an exhibition devoted to two political cartoonists. In addition to the specific (and limited) exhibition there is one wall devoted to the timeline of criticism and the various forms of art, from the greek era until the modern era. My kids love drawing and painting, and we expected (as the website advertises) that this is a museum devoted to the art of cartoons, with rotating exhibitions. It was a VERY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. The museum is about political cartoons - not comics or cartoons. Inappropriate for children. My kids entered and left in 15 minutes. Also, the nearly non-stop display of anti-religious propaganda is terrible and Inappropriate for anyone of any age. הגענו ביום שישי בבוקר לסיור ילדים במוזיאון הקומיקס עם ציפיות די נמוכות, מודה. מדובר במוזיאון קטן יחסית, וחשבנו: כמה כבר אפשר לחדש על קומיקס? כמה דקות וזהו. אבל הופתענו בענק.

הסיור היה פשוט מעולה! מותאם בדיוק לילדים, מסקרן, מאפשר להם להביע את עצמם ולגלות מה מסתתר מאחורי האיורים, הסיפורים והסצנות. המדריכה הייתה נהדרת: ידעה לרתק את הילדים, ידעה גם לבקש מהם שקט כשצריך שזה מבחינתי סימן למעורבות אמיתית. הסיור הסתיים באטרקציה מגניבה, הילדים הכינו קומיקס משלהם, וזה היה שיא ההתלהבות. מומלץ בחום לילדים מעל גיל 5, גם אם הם לא חובבי קומיקס מושבעים. בלי הסיור כנראה שהחוויה הייתה הרבה פחות מרשימה , אז לדעתי הוא חובה. חוויה חינוכית,...
