TL;DR A very nice aquarium with a really nice display.
Located next to the Jerusalem zoo in a large area with grass you can relax on.
Arriving there on holidays is very problematic - the entire area is closed to private vehicles causing the traffic in the area to be jammed. They redirect the vehicles to the technologic garden and from there shuttles take you to the Jerusalem zoo. This shuttle is very effective and you hardly wait for it but from the zoo you need to take another shuttle which uses smaller vehicles and you can end up waiting 30 min to get there.
Once you get to the aquarium you can recover on the large garden around the building that has a small waterfall and some pools.
The aquariums are located in the main building. You follow the path inside between the different displays that have screens with information about the fish you look at.The display is divided to different sea types and there are really nice things like "selfish" (not a typo) that are locations where you can take a selfie on special locations with a light that turns on so you get to see both the people and the fish. some of them are niche in the aquarium wall. There is also a tunnel that you go through inside the big tank and it also has a curved wall that you can lean in and have sharks be right next to you.
There are some unique displays: This is the only place that I ever saw a pregnant seahorse There is a nice jellyfish display with changing lights And an open stingray aquarium.
There is also a butterfly area with huge blue butterflies it's really nice but they don't let you feed the butterflies like they do in some other places.
There are alot of parking places all the way between the zoo and the aquarium but on holidays they don't let...

A really beautifully made place, it can be seen clearly that building and engineering the structure wasn't an easy task and tooktoo a lot of efforts from many people. - as an engineer myself I really respect the things they did there, Beautiful job.
Very good way of presenting the information about both the good and bad sides of the way humans treat earth.
Cons:
I think that the fish the Israel Aquarium is keeping there are kept in really healthy conditions but suffering mainly from the uncontrolled visitors, who lets themselves and their kids shout, run, knock on the fish tanks etc. It is a real trauma for a fish to hear such strong continuous knocks and sounds so it will eventually have a result in fish losses(most fishes use frequencies to communicate so a small knock with a finger reflacts like a strong hit to the fish's small ears etc)
In summary, a really good place to come to, gets 5 stars for sure!
Dear future visitor - if you read this please make sure that the fish won't suffer from your/other visitor's visit when you're...

Let's start with the great things:
Easy, nearby, free and large parking lot. The park is clean, well maintained and easy to navigate. We entered the park w/o any lines on a Sat at 10:30 am. There were a decent number of people in the park, however it didn't feel too crowded. All of the attractions are air-conditioned and shaded. Outside there is a nice seating area, with shades and lots of trees. Most importantly, the attractions themselves are great. Both the butterfly (don't miss) and the aquarium areas are beautiful. The kids (4-7 years old) loved them. The adults enjoyed the exhibitions as well :)
At the end we bought ice cream for the kids. This is when MANY bees started to fly close to them which was more than inconvenient and just didn't feel safe. Then, we noticed quite mauy bees close to the rest areas. I think it's something the park...
