Ilanot Arboretum Visitor Center — Attraction in Kadima - Zoran

My first 'discovery' in Israel. Hundreds of labeled tree species along wife walking paths, most of them foreign to a Pacific Northwestener like myself, with lots of species from Australia, Africa, South America, and Europe. My three year old loved going from tree to tree and seeing the different needles, seeds, etc. The bathrooms were very clean, and there were plenty of picnic tables and benches.

We only visited the forest on the east side of the highway. It appears there used to be a trail under the highway connecting it to the forest on the west side of the highway, but it is closed now, so we didn't visit that side.

Highway noise is significant, but not a deal breaker for us. I'll probably schedule future visits when there is less traffic.

Oh, and there is a brochure available in English next to the map sign in the parking lot.

A magical little spot in the middle of road 4 to get away from the noise of everyday life and into nature. Lots of shaded parking, clean toilets, loads of water fountains throughout and all wheelchair/ buggy accessible. If you download the app there are 3 different games to play navigating around the park and teaching you about the different trees. Good for kids age 8+. Unique and interesting forest with a huge variety of trees from all over the world. Every tree has a sign with its name and place of origin. Awesome for the whole family. The walking trails are mostly suitable for strollers and you can have a fun picnic pretty much everywhere. Also bathrooms and lots of picnic tables. Downside is the parking.
