This museum is most informative and delightful. The artifacts date back to prehistoric times. Most are from 500 BCE to 500 CE. This museum has an excellent recreation of an ancient home and a superb, well designed film about Gamla, a mountain-top town destroyed by the Romans after a bloody siege. Gamla, about 20 miles (35 km.) to the south is a most see national park, both the waterfall and the ancient Jewish town site.
Johnny, the museum guide, gave us a personal tour. He is an expert, very knowledgeable, personable and has a delightful subtle humor.
After the museum closed, Johnny helped us find the natural foods store, in the nearby shopping center in Katzrin. And translated for us. Now that is a Mensch :--) (caring human).
This museum is definitely worth seeing, both for tourists and for archeology buffs. We thought much better than the "ancient village." And the chance to meet Johnny. It is people like him who make Israel one of our favorite places to visit in the world.

NOTE 2: While here, do see the town center. The architect had great sensitivity to human needs and created a beautiful play area for children -- and a heartwarming place for people of all...
Read moreWe visited the small museum and did not expect some extra ordinary impressions. But this was totally wrong. We definitely can recommend this guidance by Jonny as it was the highlight of our...
Read moreThe museum has tons of interesting artifacts that shed light on Judaism, Jewish people and culture, and best of all, we have Johnny, who is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the topics that his presentation brought to live all the important facts in an entertaining manner. Our group of 40+ from Hong Kong just couldn’t have enough of him!
Definitely worth a visit if you want to learn more about the general subject of Jewish culture, not necessarily narrowly...
