A very cool place for a family trip! A dark cave with hundreds of flying bats 🦇... you can definitely hear them... but don't worry they won't touch you... We used a cellophane flash light inside the cave to see the way... 🔦 Inside there is a wood path with stairs to go deeper and then you go back to the entrance on the same way. My kids said that the cave is a little bit sketchy... 🤪 BUT it would be an unforgettable experience! The way to the cave is also fun for the kids... climbing on rocks, and had a lot of shade. 20 - 30 minutes and you are in the cave (depends on how many breaks you take), there is a sign to the cave. After getting in and out of the cave continue a little bit forward and a rock 🪨 slide is waiting for the kids to slide (we used our hats to slide on, and not only the kids enjoyed the sliding... 😉). The trail keeps on going but we didn't continue and we went back the same way. What a perfect end for this easy short fun and cool experience!!! I think that the message is clear - GO...
Read moreTwins Cave was an absolutely beautiful hike. The kids (ages 4 and 7) loved it, especially the cave with the bats at the end. The hike itself was not too intense. It was described as a hike which was suitable for all ages, but honestly some of the seniors with our group had trouble at times when there were very slippery stone inclines. There were guardrails to use to get up, and everybody succeeded as far as I know, but it didn't look fun for many of the less mobile folks and that caused a bottleneck for all the other hikers behind them. Also, if you're coming on a busy day (like Chol Hamoed when we went), come early or be prepared to park far from the entrance. The dirt road to the entrance is very narrow and people park on both sides as the day goes on, leaving no room to maneuver and crazy...
Read moreThe Te'omim cave is a short hike (30-45 min) from the parking area, with a moderate amount of climbing. I suggest wearing closed shoes with good traction. Some of the hike is in the shade but there are stretches of direct sunlight. The cave itself is very dark - bring a powerful flashlight (we used the flashlight on our phones and it was not bright enough). There are many bats in the cave and a pool of water at the end. Very interesting for children, good for a short...
