This is a holy landmark of Rabbi Shimon bar yochai. No tickets needed all year round unless you are going on Lag Baomer when the entire county will be there. Otherwise the entry is free.

If you don't like crowds go on a week day as early as possible in the morning and watch the sunset ,it's beautiful.

There is a new car parking area, and kits of steps all throughout the place. If you have difficulty walking ,enter through the left side of the parking if you are facing the site ,there a slope and easy access to men's and women's praying areas. Clean toilets and lots of them.and even an area with cold and hot water and usually people bring baked goods.

The place is beautiful, surrounded by green mountains. There is a mixed table area to eat but it isn't big so probably good for families but not large groups.

It's recommend tovisit the graves in the area plus hike down the mountain to Hillels grave( 5min walk) aswell and if you are very adventurous continue on route to Shamay's grave Wich s a little further on a bumpy hilly route.

Overall a wonderful experience and...

Upon arriving at the tomb, I was immediately struck by the peaceful atmosphere and the sense of reverence that permeated the area. The tomb itself is a beautiful structure, adorned with intricate carvings and adorned with colorful mosaics. As I walked through the corridors and chambers, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and respect for the man who lies buried within.

Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochi was a renowned scholar and spiritual leader who played a significant role in the development of Jewish tradition and literature. His tomb serves as a testament to his enduring legacy and the respect that he continues to receive from the Jewish community.

Overall, my visit to the Tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochi was a truly enriching experience. The site is well-maintained and provides a unique insight into the history and culture of the Jewish people. I would highly recommend a visit to this sacred site to anyone interested in exploring the rich history and...

The Kever of Rabi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron, Israel is an incredibly powerful and spiritual place. As the final resting place of the Talmudic sage and author of the Zohar, it holds great significance for those seeking a connection to Jewish tradition. Visitors often report feeling a sense of peace and tranquility here, making it a wonderful spot for prayer and meditation. However, it's important to note that the site can become very crowded during certain times of the year - such as lag ba'omer due to its popularity. Despite this, the energy and devotion of those who gather here only add to its allure and significance. Overall, this is a must-visit destination for those interested in Jewish history and...

A very special place. A really different type of place in the North of Israel. Not an Archeological site or a Nature Reserve, not a mall or an Old City. But a new type of experience for a tourist, and perhaps one you should have if you want to know better Israel. I've already been there in the 70ies, true, but now it has become something else completely and I'm not sure if it is for the better. It is supposed to be a spiritual place, a holy place, a place of significance but most of the people there are interested in something else. I'll let you be the judge of it. Still I do recommend being there.

I have been to the Western Wall , the kotel many times during my visits to Israel. After speaking with some of my friends I found out that this site is the 2nd most holy site in Israel. It definitely is very spiritual and very welcoming to all. If you've seen some of the holy sites this is one that you should definitely put on your list to visit.
