A small but friendly zoo. Quite a diverse range of animals. I don't know why other people complain about the cleanliness of the cages and the way animals are treated, we've been there today and the staff were very kind and friendly to the animals, all the cages were clean and the animals got great food and treats (you can see in the pictures I uploaded some of them even had fresh melons on this hot summer day). We were surprised at the amount of different species they held, and each has a plaque with a description and useful info (in Hebrew). Some of the facilities are a bit old and outdated but it didn't spoil the visit. The price is quite high for non-locals (50 NIS for anyone older than 2), but you can easily find coupons...

If you l8ve in Rishon, you definetly should visit Rishon zoo "Hai kef" there arr reduced ticket price for residents of Rishon, although no one checked my id when i bought them.. Biggest dissapointment- big cats saction was closed for renovation, but there were no signs of work being done. The whole section was barred. Thats all. Positive sides- petting zoo for kids (horrible stench for adults, but hey- its all natural). Peacocks walking around...nice park to walk in, no caffees- just some shacks selling drinks and junk food. Read moreWonderful zoo !!! I recommend to visit everyone !!! The animals are kept in excellent conditions and very well maintained! There is a mini zoo for small children. Peacocks walk freely around the territory. Monkeys are very friendly stretched their hands to you. There are otters, foxes, parrots, flamingos, giraffes, kangaroos and other animals.
