TL;DRย a great new part of the Ariel Sharon park - no parking yet.
Located just acrossย the road from winter stadium and scratchesย until the Mesubim intersectionย is a new part of Ariel Sharon park that handles the Kofer stream area and Shalem farm.
Currently the entranceย is just after the Mesubimย gardeningย nursery when you get to a trail with trees on both sides that leads you in.
They did a really good job planning this part of the park - the trees on the trails are located at the south to shade the trail (unlike the national park where they planted them on the wrong side) There are large areas of grass you can lay downย on. There are multiple areas with shade that has picnic tables you can eat on.
There is a bigย ย orangeย statue on the left that is the one thing they did wrong there, you expect it will be some kind of slide or other activity for kids but no you can't touch it only look at it.
The Kofer stream is going through the park - it has water only when it rainsย so it leads to flood area to hold all the water during the raining season, it's surroundedย by unpaved trails with all kind of flowersย and vegetation.
Further in the park there is a nice lake surrounded by trees and bird watching shades and lots of frogs. the trail goes around it.
The area closer to the Mesubim intersection holds the parking area that is still closed, It is very big and unpaved but is shaded by trees and has big areas for between the rows of parking places. It's about time they will build parking that looks like part of the park and not a huge dark asphalt patch that cooks you. At the edge of the parking area there is a large avenue ofย huge metal "trees" that leads into the park. On one side it has a large area is of trees that has a table under each one and on the other side are the houses of the Shalem farm - they are still close but should be something like the Tel-Aviv Sharona area but with less impressive buildings.
Next to it there is a playground area with all kind of attractions for kids. There are bick roades all around the park. There are water taps and street light at the Shalem farm area at night but most of it dark.
Can't wait to see what it will be like when...
