HaSanhedrin Garden — Attraction in Yavne

A park, called "Sanhedrin Garden". This was the location of the cemetery of ancient Yavne, which was in use since the Bronze age. A sarcophagus (burial coffin) is located on the adjacent road .

An impressive mausoleum  (large tomb structure) stands on the west side of Tel Yavne. It is dated to the Mamluke period (end of the 13th Century). According to the Jewish Sephardic tradition, this is the tomb of Rabban Gamaliel II. This Jewish leader was the first head of the Great Sanhedrin in the years 80-90 AD.

The Great Sanhedrin was the supreme judicial body during and after the Second Temple period.  Today, the tomb serves as a Jewish Holy place of worship.

קבאו של הצדיק רבן גמליאל זצ"ל המקום שמור הייטב, הוא בהחלט מרשים. אינטימי, ברוב הזמן אין הרבה מבקרים ככה שניתן להרגיש בנוח במקום. האחריאית למקום חנה אביטן, אישה נהדרת, ישרה, נעימה באמת אישה חמה וצדיקה. כמובן שיש הפרדה בין עזרת גברים ונשים עמדה נוחה להדלקת נרות בשטח החיצוני של הקבר, אך מומלץ להביא נירות מהבית. שולחנות קקל נוחים ומוצלים שירותים - האמת אני תושבת המקום, שנים לא העזתי להכנס לשם שוב... המקום כמובן מחזיק כיסויי ראש לגברים ונשים וסידורי תפילה ותהילים. מידי פעם כנראה בימים מיוחדים לציון, תמצאו כיבוד כשר במקום. ואני יודעת שבהילולה שלו המקום דיי מלא.

בנוסף ממש בסמוך ישנו גן הסנהדרין, ממש באותו החניון, תוכלו למצוא שם מקום שיהלדים יוכלו לרוץ לשחק עם מתקנים, שולחנות ובדרך כלל מותר לעשות בפארק הנל על האש.. ניתן להגיע לעשות במקום אירועים דתיים כמו...
