Ah, Cala Brandinchi – affectionately known as Little Tahiti, though I suspect Tahiti might file a defamation claim if it saw the place this summer.
Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the sheer vibrancy of the beach. Not the turquoise water or the golden sand, mind you, but the dazzling array of umbrellas, inflatable flamingos, and the occasional elbow to the ribs. It’s a rare talent to make one feel nostalgic for the peaceful serenity of a rush-hour subway in Milan.
The beach itself is… how shall I put it… rich in texture. Every few meters you’ll find delightful surprises: an empty plastic bottle here, a half-buried chip bag there. It’s almost like a scavenger hunt curated by Poseidon himself.
For marine life enthusiasts, this is the place to be. Forget aquariums — here, you can witness the majestic Sardinian shark (photographic evidence included). Truly thrilling, especially when one is still in the water.
As evening approached, I discovered that leaving the beach with one’s dog can be quite an odyssey. Between the labyrinth of sunbeds and the scent of melted sunscreen, one wonders if Odysseus himself ever tried to find his way back to the car park.
And let us not forget the mysterious sea creature that emerged from the depths — an elderly gentleman dressed as a mermaid. I can’t say whether he was a local legend or a performance artist, but I do applaud his commitment to aquatic authenticity.
All in all, Cala Brandinchi is the perfect destination for those who enjoy chaos with a touch of mythology. Come for the crowd, stay for the confusion. Five stars for entertainment, two for...
Read moreUndoubtedly, one of the most beautiful beach on the Costa Smeralda, truly a pearl, just like in the Caribbean! Unfortunately, the beauty of the place is ruined by the crowd. We've been coming here for years, and there are more and more people every year, most probably because of social media. Accordingly, there are more and more rules. I think the idea of pre- online reservations is very good, as well as the surveillance. Nature must be protected, and unfortunately, many people don’t care about anything. However, the limited entry is a total joke! As I said, we have been coming here for years, and they still let in just as many people as before. You're packed like sardines, people walk through the dunes. If you forgot to pre- book your ticket - no problem - you can buy one at the bar for 10 euros. When you want to leave the parking space of the beach with your car, you have to wait in line for at least 20 minutes because the payment system is so inefficient and NO ONE turns off the engine! Can you imagine how much CO2 is emitted?! Where is the nature protection here? Additionally, the wristbands are made of plastic, also not very ecological. The approach would be good, but unfortunately, it’s more about money than...
Read moreCala Brandinchi is a beautiful beach with clean, crystal-clear water and amazing colors. What makes this place unique is the incredibly fine white sand—so fine, in fact, that it’s difficult to shake off, even from your hands. The shallow waters extend far out, making it ideal for children to play safely.
However, there are some downsides, particularly in July when the beach is often covered with seaweed. Also, getting to Cala Brandinchi during the high season can be quite a challenge. You need to be lucky to reserve a spot online 24 hours in advance, and those 1,500 spots are usually gone in less than a minute. The other option is to book through a club, which is very expensive, costing around €80 for an umbrella and two sunbeds.
Unfortunately, despite the high cost, the services on the beach are lacking. There are no showers, no rehearsal rooms, and the toilets are small and located only at the sides of the beach. If you've paid for a spot through the club, you’ll find yourself having to walk a considerable distance to the toilets and then wait in line for 15-20 minutes. This lack of basic facilities is quite frustrating, especially...
