One of the most peaceful and beautiful cemeteries I have visited. It is truly well cared for by the local Sicilians, for which I will always be thankful. Every time I am deployed to Sicily I make a 'pilgrimage' to this very sacred place, and take time to reflect on the sacrifice of those who lay there and those who served in Italy, and returned home bearing the scars of their service. I remain forever grateful for their dedication and sacrifice, and for the care that Sicily and Italy have shown for our fallen. We Will...

On March 30, 2024 my sister and I visited this beautiful cemetery. We came from Canada to spread some of our mother’s ashes on the grave of her beloved first husband, Frank Hall. Lt. Hall (age 32) was killed in August, 1943, during the Allied invasion of Sicily. This lovely cemetery, where so many Canadian soldiers lie, is a fitting memorial of their bravery and sacrifices, and is a reminder of the price paid by so many for the liberties we...

I have visited the Agira Canadian War Cemetery almost every year for the past 15 years.

Visiting here always makes me proud to be Canadian and so grateful for the sacrifices made by these fallen soldiers, the youngest of which was just 17 years of age.

It's very nice to see it taken care of. So many people, especially the younger generation, have no idea of the effort these people gave. My uncle fought here but managed to come home to raise a family. I feel some of his comrads may be here. I would have liked to see the Red Ensign and / or Union Jack next to our new Canadian flag at half mast here.

Worth the stop on the drive across Sicily. A somber reminder of the gruesome history of the region and rough terrain faced during the war. Thank you to those who maintain the area and pay respects to the fallen.
