According to Statista, there are around 32,000 wineries in Italy—which, honestly, sounds about right. But numbers only tell part of the story. The best way to truly understand a place is to experience it firsthand—so that’s exactly what I did. And it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life.
There’s nothing quite like sipping crisp white wine from the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. As I enjoyed my glass, a local woman sitting nearby told me the volcano is still active. Maybe that’s why she sat facing it, quietly watching the mountain while slowly savoring her red wine.
To conclude, the entire experience was unforgettable—from riding the old train to Pompei station, a place that feels frozen in time, to being picked up by a charming driver and warmly welcomed by the winery owners. Their generosity stood out, especially when they offered tastings of things I’d never encountered before—like olive oil infused with parsley and rich paste di pomodori. Can't wait to come again, this time without getting drunk

Read moreBooking was easy , and we wnt for a tasting combined with a picnic . Very fast and smooth booking process. Place was esay to find , but if you expect a traditional wine farm, do think again . It´s a factory . Brother and sister are running the place together with their parents . Valentina is the one who tells the story and takes care of the guests. We have visited many different production facilities over the years, but have never met such an dull presentation . A tape recorder would have been more charming . Her brother (busy sith the incoming grapes) were far more enthusiastic. Wines were hardly potable , even when we asked to taste their best year we were not impressed . Picnic however was deliciious and the scenery over the vieyards and mountains absolutely thrilling . Bottom line ? There are far better winerys on Sicily , with better wine and above all with...
Read moreWe had an amazing experience at Quattrocieli winery during our holiday in Sicily. We visited with a family of six and spent a few hours learning everything about winemaking from Giuseppe. His explanation was very clear and it was very interesting to learn all about the different aromas present in wine. He showed us photos and videos of all stages of the wine making process and was happy to answer any questions. We tasted four different wines, which were all delicious. We ended up buying various bottles to take home with us (good value for money, just like the cost of the wine tasting itself). Valentina kindly brought us an amazing selection of Sicilian bites (meats, cheeses, bread, chutnies). Thank you for giving us this wonderful and unique experience, we definitely recommend...
