Volete passare una bella giornata immersi nella natura, con una vista mozzafiato su un lago dal colore stupendo ? Benvenuti al lago dei cavalli. Si raggiunge facilmente tramite l'autostrada Gravellona Toce, e poi circa 40 minuti di strada per salire ai circa 1500 metri dove si trova il lago. Ci sono 2 comodi parcheggi, uno proprio attaccato alla diga e l'altro poco più sotto (10 minuti a piedi). Il lago ha un incredibile colore turchese e lo si può ammirare in tutta la sua bellezza appena si parcheggia, proprio dalla diga. Ma il consiglio è quello di girarlo, possibilmente tutto. Se si parte col giro a sinistra, la parte più comoda, ai percorrerà una strada molto comoda alla portata di tutti. Da questa si arriva in circa 30 minuti dal lato opposto della diga (quindi mezzo anello) dove c'è anche una bella spiaggia di sabbia e da dove si potrà anche fare il bagno (l'acqua non è fredda, incredibilmente..anche se va detto io ci sono stato ad agosto). Arrivati a questo punto si possono scegliere un paio di percorsi alternativi oppure optare per il giro del lago. Questa parte (quella destra della diga) è abbastanza impegnativa, con un dislivello di 200m circa. Se non siete abituati a camminare il mio consiglio è quello di evitare. Se invece riuscirete a farlo avrete la possibilità di vedere il lago dall'alto, uno spettacolo davvero imperdibile. Le foto che vi allego non rendono giustizia alla...

Il Lago Alpe dei Cavalli si trova in valle Antrona. Per arrivarci dall'uscita dell'autostrada è necessario percorrere circa 25 kilometri su una strada ben asfaltata, anche se non troppo larga ma comunque con sufficiente agio. Il parcheggio ai piedi della diga non è molto ampio, ma arrivando presto si riesce a trovare posto facilmente. Già nel parcheggio è possibile vedere un'indicazione "giro lago": consiglio vivamente di prendere questa sentiero se e solo se con l'attrezzatura adatta e ben allenati. Infatti, quel percorso porta a vedere tutto il Lago dall'alto, ma presenta salite (e discese) molto ripide oltre che alcuni passaggi non proprio banali. Per godersi il lago è possibile invece proseguire sulla diga e camminare in piano(o quasi) fino a circa la metà del cammino. (2,5 km) Una volta arrivati lì, si può scegliere, sulla base delle proprie capacità e intenzioni di seguire uno dei tanti sentieri che portano ad altre destinazioni oppure scendere verso la riva per pucciare i piedi (il lago non è balneabile) e prendere un po' di sole. Sicuramente il contesto e il colore particolare dell'acqua fanno del Lago Alpe dei Cavalli un luogo magico, dove rilassarsi anche...
