If you will search on the internet for information and photos from Tuscany, the first places you'll find are winding roads through idyllic rolling countryside planted with cypress trees. The others and the opening photo of this guide show such scenery. Cypress trees and cypress alleys are a typical picture of the whole of Tuscany and you will come across them really everywhere. But if you are really looking for the "only avenue of cypress trees" from the promotional photos, head about 31 km southeast of Siena to the village of Asciano in the hills of Crete senesi.

The road to Agriturismo Baccoleno shown in the photos is the private property of the Agriturismo Baccoleno and cannot be taken unless you are staying there, as it is gated. However, this doesn't matter at all, because you can take great photos from the adjacent field, which is easily accessible on foot from the main road, or from the crossroads, where the only short-term parking along a road is possible (there is space for...

Classic viewpoint, really beautiful spot. We arrived at sunset, the main spot is more crowded lots of people taking photos/doing photoshoots etc, but off to the sides you can easily sit with a picnic blanket and watch the sunset as we did, in relative seclusion. In fact, my boyfriend actually proposed at this spot during our sunset visit, we were far enough away from the groups (many who point, shoot and leave again!), that we didnt even notice them. It gets very quiet here once the sun is past its ideal point in the sunset, we left just after dusk and it was deserted.

We managed to park by the viewpoint easily, but there are not many spaces so pick...
