Oasi Gelsomineto — Attraction in Avola

Horrible experience. We were robbed at the beach parking lot on August 23, 2025. They took our backpacks , laptop , jewelry, passports , wallet- all gone . We made a police report and the police told us that at this place they steal and break into cars all the time. I asked where are the security cameras then? Nobody has the answers…There are No security cameras and no accountability for anything. The beach “private parking” lot is an organized Sicilian mafia type of people , they all call each other to let them know where tourists are and which car they came . We told the police about this and they do not care, nor did they went back to check and investigate . Just a horrible environment where they target tourists. I told the USA embassy about this , hopefully they can announced it at the state department website. But after all this experience from HELL- I will not be back to Sicily, people do not care about you and treat you horribly. If they could they would steal everything from you! It’s a shame because the place was beautiful but with such a hostile environment it’s not worth it. Especially that you get no help if something happens to you. Very backward...

Lovely beach in a natural reserve. The water is clear and super clean, in some bits you have sand and in other stones, so I would suggest going early so that you can choose the best spot for you. There is also a little walk you can do on the cliff that bring you to a more hidden bit of coast. Some brave people were doing amazing jumps from there straight in the sea. The parking is €20 or if you prefer you can leave the car a but further away and walk to the beach. There is also a bar and some free showers you can use. Spiaggia Gelsomineto - istruzioni per l'uso

Premesse mare cristallino, trasparente, pulito (25/07/23) spiaggia fina di sabbia, ma sono anche presenti numerosi sassi grossi, tronchi e alberi di macchia mediterranea la spiaggia è profonda una quindicina di metri e larga quasi 1 kilometro all'estremo destro della spiaggia c'è una altura e degli scogli molto belli, mentre all'estermo sinistro altri scogli con una vedetta militare degli anni 40' durante la settimana (anche a luglio) la spiaggia inizia ad affollarsi verso le 10, e prima delle 9 non trovate nessuno il parcheggio è a pagamento con tariffe variabili a discrezione dei custodi (a piacimento potrebbe costare 15 oppure 20, e si dice che le centrali di agosto pure di più) il parcheggio è "comodo" perché è fronte spiaggia... Poi in lontananza nel parcheggio ci sono bagni e docce (volutamente non vicine alla spiaggia) l'ingresso al mare per i primi 10 metri è ricoperto di sassi lisci (non sabbia) ed è consigliabile avere le scarpette ma se non le avete riuscite ad entrare lo stesso non è presente un lido, non ci sono servizi bar, ma ci sono delle persone che vedono teli mare e piccoli ombrelloni prima della strada di ingresso al parcheggio a pagamento (sulla sinistra provenendo da Avola) c'è la possibilità di parcheggiare in una strada liberamente gratis (attenzione a parcheggiatori abusivi) ma poi avrete da camminare circa 10 minuti per arrivare alla spiaggia.

Opinione La spiaggia vale sicuramente la visita e pur di parcheggiare vicino alla spiaggia, 20 euro li spendo volentieri. In più avendo l'auto vicino, potete portare tutto ciò che volete (ombrelloni, frigo, bevande, tavoli, sdraio, sedie....) Senza dovervi caricare tutto questo a mano.
