You get a free ticket for this place after visiting Su Nuraxi. They tell you to wait a few minutes for the next guided tour to start. Once the guide arrives he just starts talking in Italian and keeps on going about everything in Italian... In our group of 10-12 people, maybe 1 or 2 were Italian... Everyone else was from other nationalities and we didn't understand what was being told. It just felt awkward and out of touch. There was never a question from the guide if we understood.
If they give tours in both Italian and English in Su Nuraxi they should keep the same principle in this museum.
Besides the language barrier, there's no A/C working in the corridors and galleries and you bake while listening to the guide.
We wanted to rate this with a much higher score, since the collection seems interesting and the guides at the end of the day are doing their jobs, but until they correct this language issue we don't find it acceptable for a museum directly linked to a UNESCO world...
Read moreWe came here after visiting Su Nuraxi a few minutes up the road (admission is included in the Su Nuraxi ticket). The only way to visit this museum is with a guide (the guide didn't understand my question asking how often tours run, but we caught the 1530h tour) and we spent about 30 minutes wandering around. It seems useless to have a guide since she barely said anything, but all the posted signs are in Italian (there is a book with English descriptions that you can carry with you for the fixed exhibit). The fixed exhibition is about Giovanni Lilliu's life and the discovery of Su Nuraxi. There was also an exhibit on gladiators (exhibit there only until December 31, 2023) which was the better of the two exhibits. Not worth it if it weren't included in the Su Nuraxi admission ticket already. Don't feel bad about skipping it if you're...
Read moreThis is not the regular Museum place that you might expect to have, but it is a new construction which features mostly the reparation and excavation work of the person that discovered the archaeological site next to it. There is only a guided tour which covers mostly the history of the place and while I was visiting, there was an exhibition about the Chinese terracotta Army with some small ancient items. Overall, it is nice to visit since it is included from the Su Nuraxi. People should adjust their expectations as this is not something extravagant, but a nice and convenient way to showcase the history that Lilliu showed...
