We approached from land, and thus didn't access the caves.

You easily drive to the parking with a regular 2x2 car when it's dry. If it has been raining you won't get back up the steep roads without a 4x4. Dont go there without a spare tyre (a real one) and keep in 1st gear so that your tires don't get damages. If you go slow it's a 40 minutes drive from the paved road.

Ground clearance on the last bit of the road requires just standard car, about 2 dm with no stones sticking up in the road. The road is well kept all the way to the parking 2km before the beach.

The beach is nothing special however, and free diving is lousy there. What makes it with the trip is the road and the hike. If you want to free dive, go to...

🚨🚨ATTENZIONE!

we went with the car, very bumpy ride, very dangerous for cars even though we had a big SUV. took us around 2h to cover the 7km dirt road then a walk of around 40 mins down to the beach. there’s only one restaurant that serves drinks and panini’s only. Then the beach was full of jellyfish. Ended up having to do the same trek and drive back immediately which was much worse that the way there. There are plenty of other beaches around that are way better and easily accessible compared to this one. also boats dock every 30 mins bringing loads of people so not...

Awesome beach. Pristine water. Pebble beach, rather than sand. If you plan to go on foot, note: unless you have a 4x4, you have to park 9km away and walk. With a 4x4 you can park 2km from the beach. The path is mainly stones and rocks, so good shoes advisable and not suitable for a pushchair\wheelchair etc. In the summer, it is pretty quiet until the boats arrive from Arbatax and Cala Gonone, after which it can be busy. Quiet again after 4.30pm. Overall, a lovely spot and well worth a visit.
