Museo Multimediale del Canto a Tenore — Attraction in Bitzi/Bitti

It simply isn’t ready for prime time.

There is one exhibition, which is great.

The exhibition has four separate full length video screens showing the actual singers doing their part (see photo for explanation). You stand in the middle listening to them. You can select from over 24 towns to see their styles, including outfits/costumes, and you can select from 2-3 songs for each town.

Then, there is one painting. Okay, you’ve now done the whole museum! (Tickets are 3€ each.)

To be fair, they are working on new multimedia media displays, including the use of VR goggles, but nothing is ready yet.

Finally, the roads in Bitti are narrow!

Do not make the mistake we did and follow Google Maps to the exact location. Too narrow! We got down, but if a car would have come the other way, who knows!

Too bad - again like many times in Italia - no English speaking staff. Very friendly though. The descriptions and introduction of the a-tenore style lacks the understanding of one of the most important factors for the extraordinary speciality of this style; which is that 2-3 men of the group sing in overtone-singing style! Il museo multimediale dei tenores di Bitti è uno stupendo viaggio,alla scoperta delle sonorità e dei balli tipici, non solo del luogo,ma di tutta la Sardegna,in cui si può interagire ascoltando assieme o singolarmente le performances dei tenores oltre alle prove di ballo sardo in cui ci si può cimentare,anche in copia. Se non ci fossero stati altri visitatori,non saremmo riusciti ad andar via.veramente singolare e stupendo,oltre al fatto che il museo nasce dalla ristrutturazione di tipiche case locali,assieme a quello agro pastorale. Per arrivarci non affidatevi al navigatore,rischiate di perdervi in vicoli e salite,senza mai trovare la meta, chiedete invece alle persone del posto:sono stra educate,accoglienti e disponibili,colgo l'occasione per ringraziare in particolar modo il signor Cirillo,che è stato di grande aiuto.
