Cala del Corvo — Attraction in undefined

The population of Corvo is roughly 430 people and they all live in Vila do Corvo, the only settlement in the whole island. With a history of battling pirates, corsairs, and recurrent rough Atlantic storms, local corvinos are known for their history of resilience and courage. The entire island of Corvo corresponds to a main volcanic struture, with a caldera at the top (called Caldeirão) and about twenty secondary volcanic cones on its flanks and inside the caldera. It is thus a "volcano-island", the only one in the archipelago with these features. you might think that Corvo Island is easily visited in a few hours, given its area! However, it will be worth spending the night in this place full of pleasant surprises. The extinct volcano on the north side of the island gave way to Caldeirão do Corvo, the biggest attraction on the island. Un luogo per chi odia la confusione e ama il mare azzurro e profondo. Difficile arrivarci, per via della zona da attraversare ricca di buche e pietre affioranti, ma speciale per chi ama visitare grotte (a circa 300 mt dalla riva e con direzione 30° nord) e fondali marini. Peccato la presenza del solito imbecille che ha preso una sedia, depositata dai suoi colleghi poco più a monte, e se ne è servito per pescare o altro. Naturalmente se ne è guardato bene di rimuoverla da lì... troppa fatica. Ora troneggia come un monumento a tutti quelli come lui che abbandonano cose sulle spiagge! Ps. Proprio ora sono arrivati operatori ambientali che stanno rimuovendo rifiuti da sotto una parete a secco. Bravi e bravissima questa...

Raggiungibile in barca o con sentiero. Bella caletta di ciottoli. Utili le scarpette da scoglio per entrare e uscire dall'acqua. Spingendosi leggermente al largo si puo accedere nuotando ad una piccola grotta. Portatevi maschera e...
