9. 2021 Necropoli di Realmese (delayed review). A vast, deserted site, overgrown with vegetation. Rock tombs, which we walked through as we went. We climbed the rock, walked across the crumbling bridge, such a beautiful place and so desperately overlooked and forgotten. There is a large car park on the site, but there is a terrible road leading to it and no signage from the car park. From the car park, past the faded signs, down the stairs and towards the quarry , around the quarry (have it on your left) and keep wading through the tall vegetation... Maps ti porta fino a quasi all'ingresso dove la "strana" strada in ciottoli lascia spazio ad un viottolo non praticabile dalle auto. All'arrivo mi ha accolto quello che rimane di due cave di tufo che certamente hanno stravolto l'equilibrio dell'area, nelle sue pareti si intravedono dei cunicoli. Poco più avanti si fa'largo il panorama di tombe che tanto mi ha ricordato Pantalica. Percorso breve e senza particolari difficoltà, ovviamente per vedere da vicino le tombe bisogna arrampicarsi, ma è fattibile con le scarpe giuste. Pare evidente che il percorso potrebbe essere molto più ampio ma la vegetazione è foltissima e le passerelle sono distrutte. Ne...

Very atmospheric once you get there but be wary of satnav. Ours took us past the car park (no sign) until the road stopped. Had to reverse 150m back to the car park along narrow road with big holes. Worth it...
