The theater is big and it is at a very nice place. The view is really beautiful from the theater. Those Greeks knew hot to entertain themselves :) Remarkable that if you leave the motorway you should turn RIGHT because the parking is NOT at the ruins. You have to drive to the RIGHT a few hundred meters and leave the car at the big parking. There is a shuttle bus which leaves in every 10 minutes (more or less; Italian timing) and takes to the ruins. You have to buy ticket for the bus in the office nearby. There is other shuttle bus which takes to the theater. You have to pay separately. The ruins are not far, it is possible to climb up (we paid as we arrived around 17:30 and we did not want to loose time with walking up). The theater is beautiful, there are good information signs about the history, also in English. It is really...

Generally the place is absolutely gorgeous but the managment ruing everything. i believe that they close the main parking only to benefit the parking before the area and to run other bussines when you make the people to use parking for wich need to pay and then bus wich you need to pay. the immediately send you there and didnt explain you why you cannot use the free parking there and the one of the left side of the road.

the other problem wich i face is the prices of the restaurant after the tickets gate. when we order and take our meals , we returned back for little bit more and they tried to charge us double of what we pay 20min earlier for the...

This is certainly one of the most well preserved and renovated open theater in Europe.

You need to park in the free public parking and walk about 250 meters to the ticket boot. You can bring your car closer and let anyone get off and return park if needed.

The tickets are 8 € each, plus 2 € for the bus ride. The bus would bring you to the open theater. It’s at 1 km away, you can walk but at noon under 40C, I suggest you take the bus. For it you will need a mask 😷. It runs every 30 minutes.

To reach the temple you need to climb some stairs, about 250 meters away.

We had a great day visiting the temple. There are a few information boards around and an app that can be downloaded for more information. A shuttle is available to take you to the top of the hill but if you are brave enough to do the walk up, you get rewarded with some extra sites along the way. There are lots of bits you have to pay for, €5 to park which is away from the site, so look out for the sign and a shuttle bus takes you to the entrance. €6 per person entry, and the shuttle up to the amphitheatre at the top is a further €1.50 each. Ice cream in the shop by the entrance is delicious, highly recommend.

Segesta Segesta.
