Orrido of Saint Anna — Attraction in Cannobio

Spectacular place the combination of the double bridge over the gorge and the little church, is a wonderful photo opportunity. The was a bit cool and cloudy but the walk from Connobio was easy. There is a path that leads up the gorge from here, but it’s pretty steep and shear on on side, due the the weather we turned back. We just went for the view so it wasn‘t important that the church was closed. Behind the church there is a beer garden but again it was closed. Nice place to walk too from cannobio, the route is simple and easy. The water is a great place to cool off. The water is very cold.

St Anna can also be reached easily by car and is a nice place to swim during a hot day because of the cold water.

The cave is nice to explore.

The church itself is small but very beautiful. It only takes 5 minutes to explore. So I would only recommend to go there if you would like to swim and enjoy the view and coolness...

Im Internet ist dieser Ort zwar beschrieben, aber meiner Meinung nach nicht genügend gewürdigt. Parkplätze in ausreichender Zahl vorhanden. Wir haben ca 10 entfernt auf einem ausgewiesenem Parkplatz geparkt,merkten später aber,dass auf dem Weg zum Fluss und zum Bergsee auf der Rechten Seite noch mehrere Parkbuchten gewesen wären. Fährt man aber bis Santa Anna weiter,befindet sich genau dahinter auch noch ein Parkplatz. Von der Kirche aus erreicht man in 2 min dann die antike Bogenbrücke und auch das dahinter liegende Restaurant. (Bei uns war es leider geschlossen) Neben der Kirche geht ein kurzer Weg direkt runter zum Wasser. Kein Sandstrand!!!! Wie überall ein Strand mit großen und kleinen Steinen. Das Wasser hatte bei Uns 19°C (ist halt Bergwasser :-) ) Lufttemperatur 34°C im August. Das Wasser ist im ersten Moment seeeeehhhhhr kalt,aber gleich darauf das erfrischenste Erlebnis ever. Man kann dann zum Wasserfall hin durch die Schlucht schwimmen und auch ab und an Pause auf den (manchmal glitschigen) Felsen/Steinen machen. Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis.
