Getting there is really easy thanks to the shuttle service from the parking area. It’s €8 per car per day, and that includes everyone inside the car plus parking, super convenient if you don’t want to stress about finding a spot.

There’s a small spiaggia attrezzata with chairs and umbrellas if you prefer some comfort, but most of the beach is spiaggia libera, so you can pick your own spot and enjoy the natural setting. The area is also mostly disabled-friendly, so it’s accessible for everyone, which is a huge plus.

Quest'oggi 10 agosto 2014, dopo diversi anni, mi sono recato alle ore 16.00 a Torre Guaceto boa gialla. Il motivo per cui sono giunto a quest'ora è dovuto al fatto che oltre a me e mia moglie, vi erano mia figlia di tre anni e mio figlio di due mesi. Sono rimasto piacevolmente colpito dal sito internet ed ho deciso che valeva la pena visitarlo. Non per altro per i sevizi pubblicizzati. Appena arrivato siamo stati accolti dalla scena di un personaggio che usciva dal parcheggio e veniva alle mani con il personale addetto. La rissa è stata scongiurata dall'intervento di altre persone presenti nel parcheggio stesso. Mi sono rassicurato dicendomi che il caldo fa brutti scherzi e pertanto sono entrato. Dopo aver pagato il parcheggio, ci è stato detto frettolosamente che l'ingresso alla spiaggia era 400 metri sulla sinistra. Premetto che, data l'ora, il personale preposto al servizio era particolarmente scarico di lavoro. Pertanto, io con mia figlia in spalle e mia moglie con mio figlio in braccio, ci siamo avventurati alla ricerca della spiaggia con ulteriori carichi dovuti ad ombrellone teli ecc. Dopo oltre 15 minuti di camminata tra le sterpaglie sotto il sole abbiamo iniziato a chiedere informazioni alle persone che si incrociavano di rientro dalla spiaggia. Tutti quanti ci hanno sconsigliato di continuare in quanto sarebbe stato impossibile accedere al lido con le braccia occupate. Pertanto ci siamo visti costretti a tornare sui nostri passi. Inutile dire che i bambini non hanno molto apprezzato la "passeggiata"e anche mia moglie si è sentita poco bene. Rientrato al parcheggio ho trovato il personale preposto al parcheggio a bere birra all'ombra. Chiedendo spiegazioni mi è stato detto in modo sbrigativo che quella era una zona protetta e che quindi ce lo dovevamo aspettare. Ora, ammetto la mia ignoranza nel non sapere che oasi protetta è sinonimo "non adatta alle famiglie" ma mi sarei atteso quantomeno un atteggiamento differente. Professionisti avrebbero cercato di comprendere il nostro disagio, facendo eventualmente sedere mia moglie vista l'evidente situazione. Nulla di tutto questo anzi evidente fastidio nel doversi distrarre dalla birra. Morale: è la solita situazione in cui si cerca di ottenere il massimo guadagno al minimo costo. I turisti sono solo i poveri polli di turno da spennare. In questo caso con un parcheggio in un piazzale sterrato e del personale ignorante a riscuotere il dazio. Non un accenno sui servizi sponsorizzati sul sito. Ora, io sono originario di Ostuni anche se da 10 anni vivo fuori dalla puglia. Pubblicizzo sempre la puglia in termini molto lusinghieri. Da quest'oggi avrò una ulteriore utile recensioni da elargire ai futuri potenziali visitatori che mi chiederanno...

Sorry but calling Torre Guaceto a natural reserve is a joke... The beach is dirty, with microplastics and other waste, and due to the shallow water the dirt remains in the water almost up to the buoys. Beach is overcrowded in August as could be expected, yet it has only two toilets and not even a shower. Booking online or not makes no difference: the parking is huge and accepts anyone who pays the 5€ at the entrance, and then everyone queues up for the shuttle. But the small „train“ doesn’t bring you to the beach, instead it drops you off some 700m away... and even in peak periods there is only one "train". Queues under the scorching sun are very long for both journeys (wait at least 20 minutes). The sea is ok, but neither better nor worse than the other coves along the coast. Don‘t waste your time...
