My daughter chose Castello Semivicoli for her wedding venue, what a mistake. The Castello and the grounds are beautiful. but that was all, the rest was a nightmare. We stayed in the Castello for two nights, The bridal suite was very poorly furnished. There was no dressing table with a mirror, which I thought should have been standard, she had to put her makeup on sitting on a chair in front of a free standing long mirror, which was uncomfortable to say the lease.. The lighting in our room was so dim that we had to use a candle to find our way to the shower and to our bed. They charged us 20 euros for lunch per head for a tiny plate of tasteless pasta , water and bread. At night there was nobody in the Castello except us and the handyman. All the staff had gone home. We thought that the Castello was a hotel with a 24 hour reception, it was definitely not. Air condition was non existing, and their excuse for that was, that it was computerised, and integrated through the walls. Meaning that the walls were cold but not the room. The handyman had to call the manageress at midnight to sort it out, but without success, as she insisted that it was computerised. We couldn't fault the staff as they were very helpful, but the problem was the management, who have no idea how to run the establishment. We were told by a member of staff that, the owner of the Castello are in the process of turning the Castello into a Hotel. They have a long way to achieve that goal. They one thing they did well was to hand us the bill, without apologising for making our stay unpleasant. They certainly will not be...

Read moreWe stayed for two nights. The grounds were beautiful! We were super lucky to have found beautiful weather. We drove to the Castle feom Pescara. Upon arrival we were somewhat confused about parking and how to get into the property. Not your usual hotel. You had to ring the bell to the property and be let in. Once inside we were greeted by staff who proceeded to check us in and gave us the codes to the gate to enter the grounds where we were able to park our car. The property was stunning. We had room 8 with a tub. It was very rustic and well done. We had dinner there both night. Apparently, they do not always have meal service so we were lucky to experience it. Wonderful food paired with a wine by one of the staff. We also enjoyed a wine tasting. It was probably the highlight of our stay, we can’t say enough about Valentina who walked us through the tasting! So knowledgeable and so much fun. Such a gracious person! We felt like we knew her foe years! A must if you are into wine. The area is perfect for visiting nearby towns like Chieti. Overall. We loved our stay! The staff was polite and helpful. We pull highly recommend this experience and hope to be back...
