The actual Gole del Melfa is hard to find and even harder to get to. The road tho is the old Hyway 7 and it's closed to traffic and it is one of the most peacefull walks and very remote feeling and very beautiful. It goes for many kilometers along the Melfa River from Roccasecca to Casalvieri. We take our dogs for walks there quite a bit and it is very peaceful.

Diese Schlucht ist sehr gut zu gehen, da man auf der gesperrten SP7 geht. Als Ausgangspunkt ist der Friedhof von Roccasecca zu wählen. Der längste Teil der Strecke schlängelt sich allmählich nach oben. Erst im letzten Abschnitt vor Casalvieri wird es steiler. Das ist dann auch eine Länge von ca. 14 km! Hin und zurück dann ca. 28km. Man kann die Tour an jeder beliebigen Stelle abbrechen und umkehren. Gutes Schuhwerk und Kondition erforderlich. Rucksackverpflegung ist wichtig. Restaurants gibt es in Casalvieri.
