Lago di San Cipriano — Attraction in Cavriglia

August 2022: Nice lake in a beautiful setting but there are a few things which would help improve it. The east side of the lake near the dam has restricted access and there are very few clear signs pointing to permitted access. We managed to park our car in a free car park on the north side of the lakeo which is accessed via a narrow road. There is a small beach here and you can walk around part of the lake to a more isolated spot. There are a few fallen trees and the area looks like it is not maintained as there are some broken glass and bottles and what looks like building rubble along part of the shore. We managed to find a nice shady spot under some trees and swam in the lake. Walking into the lake meant walking over muddy clay with stones. The water is warm but not very clear and, where we were, there was a ledge about 10 metres out with much deeper water and is cooler (but still murky). We saw plenty of fish swimming around which were being watched by a hungry heron. Dragonflies and waterboatmen danced around the lakeside. Although we saw some people swimming under the water, it didn't appeal to me to completely submerge my head as the water didn't feel clean enough. It was okay for a quick swim though. Very bad, i do not mean the lago, but to the authoritys and the peoples who lives around. We reach the lake after long journey and we tried to reach the shore and it was inpossible. Everywhere there were signs restricting the crossing. We traveled around the lake and all was blocked With signs of severe warnings and restrictions to reach the lake shore. It's a shame that's how tourists...

Do una stella perché non posso dare di meno. Fa male vedere un posto così bello degradato ed in stato di abbandono. Venivo in questo posto da ragazzino a pescare ed ho dei bellissimi ricordi. Un posto del genere meriterebbe di essere valorizzato invece è pieno di rifiuti abbandonati ed ormai preda di bracconaggio ittico.
