What a lovely visit to this family owned, women run winery. As part of the Overseas Adventure Tour, we were luckily to enjoy a terrific lunch with yummy Grillo and Frappato wine. The wine was so good, that despite the expensive shipping cost to California, we ordered a mixed case that will arrive this week. What a treat. A must visit if you are in the area.
FOLLOW UP May 5. Frappato and Grillo arrived in perfect condition. Tasted both- a definite yum! Went to a restaurant outside San Francisco and their special wine was a Frappato. Well, while tasty, not nearly as good as from our now favorite Sicilian winery. From the winery, much fruitier, smooth and just plain yummy. Valentina gave my group a tour of her land and spoke about crafting wine with the land she and her sister inherited from their grandfather. Her story is compelling and she and he sister can be proud of what they have accomplished. The wine (both rosso and blanco) was wonderful and the tasting was complimented with a delicious lunch.
