The B&B is located in the hills of Lamporecchio. It has some great views and a lovely garden. The hostess is a very friendly lady that will answer your every question and try to help where possible. The property is a completely renovated old hillside villa., renovated with the old medievil look intact. Even the light switches have a sort of vintage to it, very nicely done. ||||The rooms are nicely decorated in complete vintage medievil style. The rooms were spacious enough.||||Lamporecchio itself doesn't have that much to offer, but you are centrally located to visit Pisa, Florence, Lucca and some other great towns.||||Now for the less good:||||Breakfast:||There are a lot of reviews online prasing the breakfast. And we booked this accomodation thinking the breakfast would be of a very high standard.||Unfortunately the breakfast was adequate at best. It was really not on par with other B&B's or Hotels we had visited during our stay in Italy. I would rather describe it as very basic. The breakfast consisted of one type of bread, which could be toasted. There was cheese, ham, two types of marmelade, yoghurt and some juices. And an omelet which would be made at the start of breakfast and then just placed on a plate at the buffet (You can imagine about 10 minutes later the omelet would not be very warm anymore). Also the marmelades would be placed on the tables, without any lid on the little pots. This resulted in us sharing this marmelade with multiple wasps... By the second morning we covered them with a napkin, to try and remedy the issue.||||Rooms:||First off, internet didn't work in our room (same story at the pool). As I'm in IT myself it's always sad to see a completely renovated property that lacks basic network capabilities. But fortunately for us 4G roaming-costs are a thing of the past in Europe...||||Also, the airconditioning was really inadequate for the room. We set it to full throttle (18°C) a couple of times when we were away, which makes it very noisy. Upon returning, the room was barely cool (about 25°C, I'm guessing). It wasn't that the room was uncomfortably hot, but nonetheless, the unit seemed inadequate.||||There was also no fridge in the room, which we found annoying, as the airco didn't quite cool the place down, water-bottles would warm up quickly..||||Unfortunately for us our mattress also had a medievil feel to it. Quite hard and very bouncy. I think they were in the process of renewing the matresses as we had a glimpse of the room next-door and they had the same bed with a completely different matress.||||With some minor adjustments, this place could reach that next level...||||So all in all (regardless of the small issues above) we had a pleasant stay at the B&B, which for us had the perfect location and some very...

Read moreSpontaneously we stayed at "Casa Medioevale" to extend our stay in tuscany for another two nights. We only booked the day before and I can tell we were very happy and greatful for having discovered this location and experienced a super relaxed and comfort stay there.||We were welcomed by Alessandro who was very obliging. The first impression of the house was awesome. Apparently a quiet new built one combined with the typical tuscan charme of old, cozy furnishing and interior. The guest rooms are named after tuscan authors of the medieval. Each room has its own color device. We stayed in the ocean blue Francesco Petrarca room. The room itself was clean and offers a comfortable bed, aircondition, a TV, a cupboard with safe and pool-bag. The walls are covered with quotations (nice handwriting!) of Petrarca in italian and a drawing of this poet. The bathroom offers a bathtub, a toilet, a bidet and a sink. The windows are covered with fly screens.||The breakfast was typical italian: white bread, cake, cookies, scrambeled egg, tomatoes, fruit, juice, joghurt, coffee (any kind of coffee, on request also served twice). Perfect start for the day.||The pool area is nice and clean, there are a lot of sun loungers, sunshades and pretty white fabrics that spread a hint of caribbean flair.||In the evening you are offered the possibility to join the typical tuscan dinner. In our case a nice barbeque with "bistecca fiorentina" (don't miss this in tuscany!) and typical starters. Everything was delicious, especially the atmosphere sitting underneath the big pergola (again with white fabrics) was unique and classy. ||The area offers some nice places with first-class lounges to sit and sun loungers to enjoy the tuscan sun. Typical tuscan plants complete the beautiful garden place.||Particularly we need to mention Filomena and her high motivated team. We felt perfectly housed anytime of our stay. Even at the pool we were asked if we wanted something to drink or eat. There is offered tea and cake during the day and any person working there is so kind, competent and yet kindly discreet. We experienced how much you care about your guests. You guys are doing a great work! Thanks a lot for that.||It was a pleasure to experience your hospitality and kindness, next time we will definetly stay longer.||Grazie mille per tutto e alla...
