Piz Boe offers a fantastic trekking experience 🏔 I climbed it in August during a weather breakdown 🌡, after an intensive snowfall ❄️ that lasted a full day. We started our trekking from Terrazza delle Dolomiti ⭐️, a wonderful viewpoint accessible via cable car 🚡 from Passo Pordoi, even in strong gusts of wind. From the top station, it takes about 30 minutes to get to the Rifugio Forcella Pordoi 🏠, where one can bolster their forces with a cup of very aromatic coffee ☕️ or something to eat. Continuing from the Rifugio, it should take you at most 1,5 hours 🕜 to reach the top of Piz Boe 🚩. The trail isn't always visible under the snow, so I recommend using a sport watch ⌚️ or a map on your phone 📱 for navigation. At some places, one can sink into the snow up to their waist! Choose your path carefully 👣. The climb to the top is quite easy 👌. There are even some metal chains for extra security, but they are also doing well as trail marks 👍 The whole round-trip should take around 3,5 hours (2 hours up, 1,5 down) in winter conditions 🌨. We made stops in Rifugio Forcella and at the top of Piz Boe, which added an extra hour ⏳️ to the trip. We managed to get to the cable car around 16:30, which was perfect. It's absolutely doable if you start...

From Pass Pordoi it is about 939m altitude. Located in the heart of the Dolomites, the mountain has a beautiful pyramid summit. Its popularity has increased as it is thought of as the easiest 3000m summit to reach in the Dolomites. It lies just above the Pordoi Pass to its location, most of the major Dolomiten peaks are visible from its summit. Fisrt stop is 600m above Pordoi pass wich takes around 1,5h of walking. You can reach the Rifugio Forcella Pordoi on 2850m also by cable car in just 4 minutes. Or you can use it for your way down. From Rifugio Forcella to the Piz Boè summit it is another 1,5h walking and at the end light climbing....
Read moreMy first 3000+ peak and I had experienced little breathing problems and had to inhale and exhale deep. It is not really hard if you use cableway to first mountain house or rifugio. Then there is nice mountain trail with one more mountain house little below before you have to climb to the peak. Nature is really sparse here, not trees, only stones and some grass or flowers in the stones. View from the peak is amazing and you have mountain house on the top. Trail is not too demanding but there are several tricky parts and you need to be careful ... as always in mountain. It was very crowded in August and some snow was still on the...
