Their wines are incredible, but we left our visit at the winery with a bitter aftertaste. What is the point of buying at the very winery when the price is much lower in multiple retail outlets in Germany? We paid ca. 75 EUR for the 2016 and 100 EUR for the 2008. There are multiple retailers where prices begin from 55 EUR and in restaurants in Munich various vintages start from 100 EUR. For example the 08 is available online for 64 EUR which is 36% cheaper than what I paid at the winery.

Read moreWe went there in 2017 for a wine tasting and were in awe. The place, the landscape, the beautiful grapevines, the gardens felt like a dream. It is privately owned, they gave us a two-hour tour which never felt rushed.
The grand finale was to enter an octagonal room which was beautifully lit and full of wine bottles all the way to the top (and bottom). It basically was the secret entrance to the wine cellar with all the barrels. We felt like being in a James Bond movie to be honest.
We loved the wines and the Grappa as well. As we bought so many bottles we did not even have to pay for the tour and tasting. Absolutely make a stop here if you are nearby! Also...
