I would recommend going the other direction and to walk the slope down. Yes, its slippery but if you have a good balance, the rolling stones will get you down faster and it's not such a bad descent. During the whole 8 hours we met only six people which was nice but also quite understandable. The route up is very badly marked, path is often disappearing and it gets unnecessarily dangerous. Via ferrata on the other hand is very easy, technically not interesting at all. I don't know who decides on where to put the cables but the person has definitely a weird sense of humor. The views were amazing, there's great history and the bridge is a good shot for your Instagram account I guess. Overall I think it's simply too risky on the parts where it shouldn't have been and there are way more interesting ferratas in Dolomites than...

My biggest dilemma for the Ivano Dibona was deciding which direction to go. I chose counterclockwise after reading that the chairlift gully was impassable due to its steep 45° gradient and frequent rockfalls. In reality, it was an uneventful well-worn track that zigzagged upward.

I reached the top of the disused chairlift in 2.5 hours, and from there, the fun began along the ridgeline, clipped into the via ferrata. When I think of WWI, I picture trench warfare, but here, men fought in the mountains, holding the high ground. The cable passes through several dugouts and crude mountain huts, offering a small taste of their experience.

In hindsight, I would have gone clockwise so I could have climbed Mt. Cristallo when I realised how much time I had spare. This was one of the best hikes...

This is NOT a Via Ferrata!!!! I don't know why they call it as such, but you have to hike for about 6 hours before you even get to a small bit of via ferrata - and it's not even at the parts that are really dangerous! Basically for anyone who loves to climb but hates to hike, DON'T do this one. I'm giving it one star for the amazing views, you're so far away from civilization, we barely encountered another human being. But it's an extraordinarily long route that requires immense fitness and, like I already mentioned, is about 95% hike and 5% via ferrata. It's also highly dangerous so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're experienced and have a high...

The via ferrata offers stunning points of view on the mountains. Technically easy as well. HOWEVER the trail is very long (be sure to start in the morning) and can be very dangerous on some parts. On some dangerous places, there is no cable to secure yourself at all, so you got to be very careful, especially on the rocky paths. Please note that the telecabin going to the very top has been out of service for the last 5 years, so you either have to get up or down a very hard slope (about 700m on horrible little pebbles). Took us 2 and a half hours to get to the top, so maybe doing the ferrata the other way around is better.

Ivano Dibona is one of the most famous via ferratas in the area. The via ferrata itself is nice but reaching it and descending is a pain in the a**. To be honest this is one trail I will never ever do again. The scree on the way up is slowly consuming your energy and the descending is a neverending path among rocks, steep ground and a path that disappeared because of the waters (probably a big storm). Ferrata is easy but the hard part is all that does not include cables. There are way much better ferratas in the Dolomites than this one.
