A breathtaking journey to the highest peak in the Alps on the Italian-French border Starting from the Italian city Courmayeur, a charming town 1,300 meters above sea level, I began my ascent via the Skyway Monte Bianco. I purchased a round-trip ticket for €63.5 at the main station.
We went to the first station Pavillon du Mont Fréty Station (2,137 m): This stop offers stunning views, sunbathing areas, children’s play zones, and a high-altitude botanical garden. There’s also a lovely short trail for hikers and a small museum showcasing the history of the Skyway and local life in the mountains.

Quite an engineering feat, by all accounts, too! ...
