Visited the beach on Aug 6 2019 with my wife and 2 small kids. Pros: (1) the hike down to the beach provides ample opportunity for truly beautiful pictures of the beach and sea from above; (2) the water temperature was not "Gulf of Mexico in Aug" hot surprisingly for the 90+F day but it was fine, the water depth drops off quickly from the beach making it cooler too but again pleasant for a hot day; (3) really the best beach that is close to Cala Gonone in my opinion. Cons: (1) parking depending on the spot you end up at can be a hike with kids but easy for an adult; (2) beach space closer to the sea can be limited; (3) no public bathrooms easily in walking distance Tips: (1) good to have water shoes for walking around the pebble beach; (2) get there early and stake out a spot and enjoy the...

Amazing beach with crystal emerald water. This beach is a must go, must see, must swim. Don’t miss it.

The beach is located at the end of a canyon of old river. The beach is composed of small and big white rocks. This is why water shoes are welcome. Inside the water after a meter it is white sand. It is easier to get in the water from its left side (looking at the water) as there is more sand.

You get to the beach by following the road up to its end where you park. I suggest you park soon as you see a free spot as it is very difficult to do a u-turn if you have not a small car.

Then there are some steps to get down. The access is easy, but you need to be careful as the stones of the steps are very slippery.

It’s is possible to fix your umbrella...

Original review from 2018: Great beach, one hour drive from Orosei, it is possible to hike to Cala Luna which takes 2 hours, but not the easiest hike and you will need quite some water to have with you. The beach is not crowded after 4pm, don't know about other time. One of the best distance/quality ratio beach if you go from Orosei. As a bonus you might meet a goat when you go downstairs from the road to the beach. Be careful because they may accidentally throw some stones at you :)

Update from 2025: still a great beach, the best ROI by car if you live in Cala Gonone or Dorgali. It got more popular and crowded now but still manageable to find a spot if you go early or late in the day. Be careful with the parking as you may get a fine if you...
