A pretty island but not much to do We visited Levanzo hoping to visit the caves and see the Palaeolithic Wall paintings but after arriving at 10:45 we discovered there is only one trip per day to the Grotto di Genoese at 10:15am so we didn’t get to do it sadly. There isn’t much else to do in Levanzo. There are some lovely walks along pretty coastline but take decent walking shoes as it is rough in places. We found a couple of small but pretty beaches with crystal blue waters which were glorious but very rocky and stony so we were envious of the seasoned visitors who brought thick foam yoga mats instead of towels (genius!!) and plastic shoes to wear in the water as it is extremely painful to walk on the beach and in the sea without them. There are a couple of restaurants and small shops where you disembark the ferry but nothing anywhere else on the island so buy your drink there before trekking off around the island. The island is very peaceful and quiet, with very few cars allowed. The nature is stunning, with green hills, rocky cliffs, and colorful flowers.
