Just spent two days in Tuscany for winetasting and adding a chapter of additional tuscany winemakers to my wine blog. After a fantastic visit at Le Mortelle/Antinori we arrived around 5pm at Rocca di Frassinello. Although visit of wine shop and tour should be open until 7pm everything was closed. After calling and explaining the interest and telling them that we are waiting in front of the door a staff member told me that they closed earlier and i should come back the next day. We left and will never come back!! Good luck with your attitude and maybe re-consider your customer...

We had a great experience at Rocca di Frassinello. On the way there, we blew a tire on the very bumpy access road—just a heads-up for future visitors. The staff were incredibly helpful: they picked us up, offered to help contact a mechanic, and got us to the winery safely.

Since some of our group had to stay behind with the car, they missed the full tour, but the team kindly showed them the cellar before the tasting so they could still enjoy part of it.

Beautiful place, great wine, very kind people—and they speak excellent English, which made everything much easier....

Heaven on earth. Julio gave me the Superior tour, which included an in-depth tour of the facilities and a tasting with some snacks. He is welcoming & knowledgeable and even let me take a preview taste of an upcoming vintage! The wine is fantastic (don’t miss the Baffonero – quite possibly the best Merlot I’ve ever had). September is a lovely time to visit, as the staff is working on the harvest. Big thanks to Julio & the rest of the wonderful folks at Rocca do Frassinello for a...

Update 8.22 Don’t expect a warm welcome without a reservation… or for that matter, a friendly, knowledgeable reception. 3* down from 5* last year. A trip off the beaten path to reach this architectural jewel is highly recommended if you’re in the area. Whether you pre-book a tour or just show up for a tasting, you’ll be welcomed by friendly, knowledgeable staff. The range of wines is impressive, the wine shop has both large bottles and older vintages, all at reasonable prices.
